Wheel Opinions Needed

Hey guys,

I’m starting my 108 wheel refurb project on the weekend but I can’t quite decide on the final finish.

I would appreciate your opinions so here is possibly the crudest Photoshop I have ever produced and the car is in the most desirable location but you get the idea.

Do I......

A) Refurb them to OEM

B) A kind of Gunmetal

C) Black (pis isnt quite black lol)

Opinions/different ideas would be great. cheers!!

oem for me. i think darker rims look nicer on lighter car such as silver. 2nd choice would be black though.

actually the black isn't too bad after looking at it for a bit, but definetly not grey!

Deff OEM with black car but I think I might do mine black to go on my silver car, as pics.

cheers so far, i get what you guys are saying but for all that effort i quite fancy something different.

any ideas?

my brother said that, i think the rim might be 2 big for red, and it will flake off after a while.

i was thinking black inners, polished outer rim and gunmetal centre with carbon fibre badges

and CJ10Jeepers car doesnt have much contrast between the two colours. im thinking maybe black would look ok, or a darker shade to these?

Cheers! I love them. They are Powder Coated - wanted to ensure that they won't corrode again. They were then sprayed the dark colour and then the Flash Chrome added. The Rim inside is very dark.
Set me back about £360 I think. Used The Wheel Specialist in Nottingham.

Think OEM is the only way for a black Z4.

Don't forget we want photos for beginners to do their refurb after christmas (aka ME!) :D

Looks good.

Any chance of some close ups of the finish (ie, wheel filling the whole picture, and then some with half the wheel filling the whole picture)

Tis hard to tell how the effect works from a distance... for me it looks quite chromey, but I guess it's quite metallicy as well!?

Wow - that was an old photo of the upgraded rims on mine. Snow!!

More seriously my buddy had bright silver rims on his VX and the move away to a darker colour has made a huge improvement. Seems to me on a black car that the bright silver OEM almost stands out too much and draws the eye to the rim not cars lines.

The way Ben has done it and mine, although different interpretations on a theme would I'm sure work as well on dark colours. Mine have a strange effect of changing colour based upon angle and lighting. The following might illustrate somewhat:

End of the day it's what you feel you'd like doing. Personally I like 'different' but based on OEM

BTW -I'm thinking of going elipsoid, amber lights and blue and white badges. I think I can get a striking new effect.
What do you think of this photoshop of what it and a new bumper could look like?
