Whats the point of a Roadster?

I'm starting to think this as dug the Z4 out of its winter slumber last weekend thinking the worst of the weather was over and its rained most of the week and today its snow and icy winds  with no foreseeable warmer weather. When I took delivery of the Z4 last April it rained for most of the year. Think I only enjoyed a few days of sunny topless zedding. Z3 is back out now until the weather improves. Really starting to think next time will get a tintop

Tim.

They are much much better that they used to be, I had a 1968 MG Midget and a 1973 TR6 and they were rotten with the roof up, bloody wind noise and ill fitting roofs, you could only enjoy those in fine weather, but at least with modern Roadsters you are much better protected from the elements, then when the sun does shine, on the 3-4 days a year we have in the UK :D , well then you forget about the crappy days :D

If you didn't have the z3 could live without a roadster. I bought my z4, then my missus bought an s2000 if I'd known that I would have bought a 350z I was sizing up

Basically no lol, I know it was a bit of a daft thread having an E89 as its a tin top but if it ever stops raining it would be nice to use it as intended.

Note: remind oneself to emigrate :)

I could see your point if you had a car with no roof, a Morgan or ariel atom...

But I have it down whenever I can see a bit of blue sky, regardless of the temperature or time of year. If the weather changes really fast, or the GFs moaning can be heard over the sound of the wind, I can pop the roof back up in 5 seconds.

i had plenty of roof down days last year. you must live in a cave when it's sunny and come out when it rains.

Last time I checked your Z3 is a roadster... Bizarre complaint to make ?

You need to be braver with the roof methinks :D

If you have to ask this question, you've missed the whole point of a roadster :D

Use mine as a daily driver, so get plenty of use, whatever the weather.

Drove into town yesterday with roof down, then rained on way home!

Never understood why you replaced your 1'er for the Z4 instead of replacing the Z3?

But yes, Britain has too many wet days!

Dont' worry - it'll warm up as soon at the Cheltenham festival finishes - FACT!

4 days of standstill traffic :headbang:

Bugger, I was going to say that!!!

What's the point of a roadster? None at all.

You can't carry sticky wailing kids, or damp mother-in-laws, or rubbish to the tip, or tow anything, or stick things on the roof, or act a taxi, and your hair get's messy, and there is the chance of sunburn, or even fun
