Whats the point of a Roadster?

Bonkers..... The new Z4 surely is perfect for all weathers, given the choice I'd always go for a metal folding roof, specially when they look as pretty if a little if a little conservative as the new Zed.....

My ex father in law had the morgan aero 8 the water p*ssed in around the window seals so Morgan sent a fix..... Sticky back fom!!!

Enjoy German engineering.....

What I'm trying to say is if this country had some decent weather then we could all have the roof down alot more, I generally don't drive around in the pouring rain :poke:

Will agree what was said earlier, I hate carrying stuff in the car including passengers so 2 seaters are ideal for me :)

Take the ferry and go south and see our Euro cousins - Four weeks roof down last year even at 23.00! Hope for the same this year.

Makes it all worth while !

When does your car come out of hibernation?

A few weeks ago a friend who was just about to buy a soft top asked me how i found soft top ownership. I replied with 1 word "frustrating"

Yes, the roof is almost as good as a tin top when up but it's really annoying having the ability to put it down but not being able to do it all the time. The frustration was part of my reason for selling. Used whenever it was dry and sometimes when it wasn't and put the roof down whenever I could, often on days and at times when people thought it was mental. It just wasn't often enough for me so i went in a huff and sold.

Guaranteed this summer will be a scorcher and i'll be stuck in my tin box :(

Apparently (I've not personally carried out this survey/ analysis so don't shoot the messenger) us Brits have more covertibles (per capita) than the rest of europe, but have some of the worst weather!

What is it that makes us so damned determined to experience roofless driving when the rest of europe is content not to?

It's because they actually get fed up of day after day of hot weather whereas we need to take advantage of the 4 days a year when it's above 25c!!

Amen to that!

When the sun eventually does come out theres no better feeling than driving with the top down and feeling the warmth ( hairdressers in coupes need not apply) :poke:

Pondered this in a recent thread. Spent a few weeks in Spain, where the sky was blue most days, and barely a soft top in sight. Weird. :?

Best sensation in the world is a cold winter afternoon or evening (read that like 5-10C) and getting the heater up and a jacket with an upturned collar.

Nothing beats that.

5-10c a cold winter afternoon/evening????? Thats summer weather here. It's not been above 5c here since October.

I think in warmer countries people aren't daft and tend to stay in the shade unlike the brits when on holiday looking like a turkey cocks bottom. I must admit my preferred weather is summer evenings or bright sunny days but cool. I tend to leave the top up on hot days when its uncomfortable and you don't look cool bathed in sweat at the traffic lights :)
