Whats my car worth then???

With all these cracking deals on new cars flying about at the minute it's got me wondering...

How much is my car worth??

Personally I think its got to be worth quite a bit more than a standard 3.0Si Sport Coupe due to all the work, blood, sweat, tears and not to mention money and love thats gone into this car over the last year. What are people's opinions on this?

Car Spec is as follows:

* 2007 car
* Metallic Sapphire Black
* Manual
* 47,000 Miles
* Bluetooth Prep with voice recognition
* Heated Seats
* Individual Leather Phoenix yellow / anthracite with leather dash and piano black centre console trim.
* Sun Protection Glass
* Business Loudspeaker System
* Cruise Control
* Comfort Pack
* Xenon headlights

Modifications undertaken:

* M front bumper
* BMW aero carbon fibre rear diffuser (customised to suit quad exhaust)
* Custom made stainless steel cat back system with quad exit pipes (DTM style)
* Eibach lowering springs
* LED license plate lights (original BMW part)
* Gruppe M carbon fibre air induction kit
* Gloss black wrapped internal door grab handles
* ZHP gearknob
* Gloss black kidney grilles
* Gloss black painted brake callipers
* Chrome door lock pins :oops:
* 18" Z4M alloy wheels in gloss black finish with as new set of Falken winter tyres
* 19" Polished deep dish rim staggered alloys with nearly new set of Avon summer tyres

Generally:

* The car will be going for an MOT first week of feb so will have 12months MOT
* The car is having new wishbone bushes fitted tomorrow
* The car had new PAGID brake pads front and rear about 5k miles ago
* The car had an oil service about 3 months ago and there is 11500 miles left till next service
* Car has full BMW service history other than the last oil service which was done by Autotechnics (BMW independant specialist in Doncaster)
* The car has never wanted for anything.

As you all probably know this car is my pride and joy. I love it to bits.
It has been anally washed with the two bucket method every week come rain or shine and professionally detailed in the summer of 2011.

The idea of this thread is to gauge some interest on who may be interested in the car and what it may or may not be worth.

Simple rule is if I couldnt sell it for what I wanted then I would keep it as it owes me too much in time and money

Thought I would add a few pictures (any excuse) to refresh peoples memories of the car.. (He's called Brutus)

Thanks for looking people :wink:

In my experience mods usually make the car more difficult to sell, and even then the price never reflects the money spent on the mods and you end up getting no more than an unmodified model. So invariably it's easier/better to 'unmodify' the car before selling it.

Original cost of your car with those options should have been approximately £36,685 OTR (not sure about the wheels it came with so have left it as MV2s)

Avg mileage for these cars is between 10-12k from the research I've done putting yours at around average.

Obviously she's in top condition valuation sites will be saying between £12k and £13k but I think they are all out.

The average list price for a private z4 coupe right now is £13k so yours should be slightly above that I would say £14k.

None of this takes into consideration all the lovely mods you've done yourself but as we know its always hard to price these and sometimes they can attract and sometimes detract.

I'd say if you were going to sell her ask £14k and see how you go, as you wont part with her, I'll up the last bid to £5.55 :thumbsup:

Don't sell it with those black rims. I'll have 'em! :D

Stunning car :thumbsup: You'll obviously never get anywhere near your money back for what you've spent on mod's but I would pitch it £1k over the market price of the stock vehicle as a private sale (and prepare to come down!). And also with mods, you sadly limit the range of buyers normally attracted to this type of vehicle. Any dealer will just shaft you either way on p/x. Just my own view for what it's worth!

From my experience in selling and buying Around 60 new cars ,any extras are not worth alot.The book is God and few main dealers will shift from that.Automatic Sat Nav and Metallic paint do add a little.So I would say you would get book price or just over.The interesting bit is then how much more you get from any dealer offers and the profit.For example we have just bought an Audi A6,Trade for my coupe(2007, 22000 auto) was 14150 and an extra 4000 as a bonus .Some people may say that is 18150 for the Z4 but the 4000 was to come off the price of the A6.My Wifes A3 was worth alot more and again with the 4000 was the one we traded.Now if you are going to sell privately then your car could be worth more to someone who has done their homework and knows the history and care you have given your car.To me thats the best way to sell and if you go and buy a new one you can still get the offers they have on at present.

Agree here - if a buyer is 'into modding' they would purposely buy a car that NEEDS modding. A car already modded is less attractive even to the market that like them that way.

Definitelly return the car to stock for sale and sell the mods off in as good a condition as you can present them.

That saying, if you get a good offer on the modded car - go for it and best of luck! :thumbsup:

Guess there's no Max Power to advertise modded cars in though now... :?

You did exceptionally well to get that trade in price on your coupe!

I hate all that dealer 'smoke and mirrors' b*llocks when they are constructing a deal. What's wrong with transparency? Loading the punters p/ex with profit from the vehicle in the showroom is the oldest trick in the book. Yet people still believe that kind salesman has given them thousands over book price for their car! If you had sold the Z4 privately you could have still got £4k off the Audi A6 and not got shafted on the p/ex.

We didnt sell the Z4 and we were offered 14150 for the coupe. I agree the 4000 was the bonus and wasnt taken into account with the part exchange offer .Having sold many cars I am aware of most of their tricks by now.

When p/xing my dad always says - go in with your cost to change figure and dont shift from it.

So for example if you think you want £10k px for your car and you think their car is worth £20k then go in with £10k as your limit cost to change, let them do whatever maths they need to to get to that price but stick to your figure.

As posted by everyone else mods generally dont add any value to a car....

But as always your car is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay... but with the two tone interior and mods your buying market is greatly reduced.

You'd get much more demoding it to standard then selling it for the going rate.... plus get change from your mod sales.

A lovely car but can it really be worth a similar price to mine?
