What Z4 shape is the best......

Round and round we go. E86 is best looking if you happen to be a closet Porsche fan. It's a fine looking motor, no question. E85 and E89 on a sunny day with the roof off are also handsome beasts. I think the rear of the E85 E86 is better than the E89.The headlights on the E85 E86 do date the front ends a bit though. G29 will probably also be fine looking when it's viewed in the flesh. Horses and courses. No big deal. Move along, nothing to see here, etc etc.

OK, so I've got a Porsche 911 and an E86, and I think they BOTH are really good looking cars. If I want to drive topless I have the best convertible a Mazda Eunos Mk1. :stir: :exitright:

Mrs G hates the Shape of the E86  Me I think the ///M Coupe is the best looking Z4. Just a shame you have to sit inside it to drive it.

As for the Mx5. Fun but sooooo slow. I hardly ever drive ours, unless I am out with her who loves them. :D

The E86 isn’t a bad looking car but how owners of it can be critical of the E89 back end is beyond me. They either haven’t looked at their own asses recently or need a trip to Specsavers.

Given the average E89 wouldn't stand a chance of overtaking an E86, then I guess that's one ugly ass you're gonna have to get used to looking at :poke:

Unless the E89 was one of the many mapped 2.0i or 28i... or an average 35i.... or 35is

Still has a fat arse though puff,
The MK1 Z4 has the best rear end. Mods you may as well lock this now :poke:

I don't disagree Dibnah, I enjoyed mine but you have to be careful which angle you take pictures from
The E86 is a stunning car but soft top motoring is what I like and the Z4M is stunning from every angle :D

Has to be the original its a stunning looking car I had the cash to buy a face lift E85 Roadster but it had to be pre facelift with French fry taillights the birth of the Z4 the car I saw on a stand at Brands Hatch and never thought I would own one 3 years later and she still looks good after 11 years of ownership.

+1

I love the rear of the pre facelift with those circular lights... they’re so retro & feel Bangle got that part right first time... just the front tangos show their age.

IMO, the E86 would have been even better in that guise

The E85 is the original and best Zed4. Its what the designers set out to do.
The rest are merely updates. Because thats what car makers do, losing a bit of the cars original soul each time until you have a completely different car which happens to have the same name....
:exitright:

Did i say that out loud......

Agree with you Jembo I would most likely have bought a Coupe as I was nervous of owning a soft top but the Coupe used Jan 2008 were around 27k for a good example from BMW so 17.5k for my roadster was a bargain compared to the Coupe.

The E86 in as you say pre face lift form would be stunning

E85 - The original and best.

E86 - The hatchback afterthought. Ideal for old blokes who've really given up on life. Anything else you hear is fake news!

E89 - I've made my feelings quite clear on the 3 series in drag many times. :headbang:

G29 - Can the G29 even be considered to be a BMW?

What about the new Toyota Supra? Should that be considered too?

Ive had an E85 and got an E89 - I love my E89 and as I still see my own old E85 occasionally, still think thats a very nice car.

If I was buying a Z4 for the first time tomorrow though, it would have to be the E89 - But I haven't seen the new one in the flesh!

Haven't we done this before?

It's obviously the one you've got - so clearly the E86!

Must be time to move on to whippy v stubby..........

But why, it’s already seen shown numerous times that the stubby rules 8)

I think the pre-facelift E85 has the best rear lights. E86 for profile, and I quite like the front kidneys of the E89.
When it comes to styling though, surely the Z8 is the daddy. (Not forgetting the classic 507, that the Z8 was inspired by).
