What Z4 shape is the best......

 Seriously?! I assume this is a joke?

It's like Groundhog Day in here sometimes.

Can we all just agree that the E86 coupe is by FAR the best looking and practical of them all and move on.

:fuelfire:

I can’t comment on the G29 until I’ve seen it at least a couple of times. If the e85, e86 and e89 were all lined up next to each other I’d have to say the e85 looks better than the e89 (roof up or down) particularly when looking at the rear. Sorry e89 owners! I still love them and wouldn’t say no to a 35i next time around.

That leaves the e85 and e86 then. As much as I’d love to say roof down the e85’s prettier it would be hard to ignore that double bubble and the sloping back on an e86  i’d still rather have a folding roof at the moment though

Round and round we go. E86 is best looking if you happen to be a closet Porsche fan. It's a fine looking motor, no question. E85 and E89 on a sunny day with the roof off are also handsome beasts. I think the rear of the E85 E86 is better than the E89.The headlights on the E85 E86 do date the front ends a bit though. G29 will probably also be fine looking when it's viewed in the flesh. Horses and courses. No big deal. Move along, nothing to see here, etc etc.

Apart from the three previous comments, it is never discussed  as every honest Z4 driver agrees that the E86 Z4 Coupe is the best shape, by far.

Pointless debate it’s all down to personal opinion - anyway in their heart of hearts everyone agrees the E86 is best

Personally I think the initial offering is usually the best ie E85. Attempts to update any model of car never really succeed although I am sure there are exceptions.

OK, so I've got a Porsche 911 and an E86, and I think they BOTH are really good looking cars. If I want to drive topless I have the best convertible a Mazda Eunos Mk1. :stir: :exitright:

The E89 by a country mile. The designers had the advantage of being able to iron out some of the very strange quirks of the E85. The E86 isn’t a bad looking car but how owners of it can be critical of the E89 back end is beyond me. They either haven’t looked at their own asses recently or need a trip to Specsavers. The other problem is it’s a coupe which means it isn’t a proper sports car at all. The advantage of the E89 is that it can have the advantages of a coupe in poor weather but when the sun is shining you can enjoy the joy of top down motoring.

I know we E89 owners are outnumbered on this forum but some of us haven’t had the E85/E86 inoculation! :D

Given the average E89 wouldn't stand a chance of overtaking an E86, then I guess that's one ugly ass you're gonna have to get used to looking at :poke:

The profile is where it all goes wrong for the E89 - well that and every other angle

Colour has a lot of impact in this decision. IMO you can't beat the E85 M in Imola Red, the E86 in Alpine White, the E89 in Black Sapphire, the G29 in Dogsh*te Brown....
