What will your next car be?

I've recently bought my M, and now I'm thinking what next? I'm more than happy with the car for now, but still on the lookout for my next!

The Astons are appealing these days - given the credit crunch prices, but just wondering what everyones thoughts are?

I think it's hard to match a Z4M's performance, looks, reliability without spending alot more money.

I haven't got an M, but the list of cars I am looking at next are:

BMW M3 v8, BMW X6 or Nissan 370Z. I'd like to have a go in the new Ford RS Focus. That looks like fun!

Don't think the new Z4 will be in my list to be honest, but you never know when I see one in the metal.

If I look at the M3 or X6, I may also keep my Z4. :)

One thing for sure, it won't be a brand new car. I used to do that, but you loose so much money now!! :o

I used to always buy new and as 1-2 years go by, the depreciation on high value cars is immense. The Z was the first second hand car I have bought! saving me 25k off list for a 2 and a half year old car from BMW directly. (still having a year warranty etc. and only 12k miles.)

Thinking the V8 M3 is definatley a possibility.

I doubt many current Z4M owners will go for the new Z4.

I could not agree more and for that reason I plan to keep my Z4M and have not given any though to my next car but I suspect it won't be the "new" Z4. I will likely stay with the BMW brand.

I've had thoughts about what to get ever since I've had mine. I regularly chop and change, so its the way I think.

Anyway, I was walking up to the car yesterday in the gym car park and I just thought - no chance will I get rid of this. I hope I feel the same at the end of 3 years (next March). I don't know what made me think it, but it was parked all on its own and it just looked gorgeous. OK, I'm bias, but what a looker.

I've previously thought about going sensible, and still may do it come next March, but at the moment I can honestly say there's nothing I'd rather have (well, discounting the supercars, etc)

I think that every time I walk back to my Z4 after paying for petrol! Something about forecourt lighting that really sets off the Montego blue also! :D

I would like my next car to be an F430 or a Gallardo but it would have to be the Scuderia or Superleggera.

Need to keep my head down and work work work.

I was looking at this and there isn't much about for a similar price that is an improvement on the Z4M. Cars like the RS4, new M3, M5 and even M6 would cost an extra 10k or so and I'm not sure that any of them are worth the extra. At the moment anyway :) It will probably be the pitter patter of tiny feet that will force me to change to a car with 4 seats.

I may go 'sensible' for my next car as I'm nearing 60 and don't want to be saddled with a big car loan. I do love roadsters so will want a convertible. That narrows it down quite a bit but I may go for an MX5 especially now they seem to have sorted out the handling and ride height issues with this year's model. Can't see me selling the 'M' any time soon though as it's far too much fun!

Currentlly:
X5
Z4
2 Jeeps

My next break point will strangely be in 4 years time. I will then have my youngest out of Uni. so no need for the X5 as a family car and hauler. It makes sense then to reconsider exactly what I have and need. I'll probably drop from 4 cars to 2 for road use (taxed out of my hobbies..)

I can't envisage losing the current Z4 having created what I want, but perhaps something of the 6 series style as a large well specced coupe. I do like my Bimmers so will stay in the brand if I can

Best guess:
Z4 roadster for the Summer (by then a 10 year old classic)
Z4M coupe or whatever 6 series style is around as a daily driver
Ex car recovery truck (and keep the jeeps untaxed/insured and avoid the need for an X5/Rangie to tow.)

For now no changes and I'm happy with almost no dpreciation, no loans and limited maintenance costs

My next car with either be an Aston V8 Vantage (in a good few years time), or an Astra 1.4 Life.

I bounce between thinking cars are worth the money, to thinking I should be sensible @ 24, and pay some off the mortgage.

I'm thinking of replacing my Z4MC for an E90 M3. The Z4MC is just not practical enough for my use of it. I'm also considering a 650i.

I'm always thinking of 'what next'. My 350Z was supposed to be my last performance car and I was considering something sensible until I drove the Z4M.....

I have a self imposed limit of £20k (used to be £25k) and as has been said I can't see what else better is available for similar money. My bad back isn't helped by the M, and at some point I may need 4 doors, but otherwise I plan to keep it at least until the inspection 2 is due!

I therefore think my next car will be a more sensible one, but I've said that before......

E90 M3 for me too, I've already started browsing. But it'll be a little while yet unless someone makes me a great offer for the MC :D

I'm possibly looking at selling this summer as we are planning a family so something mildly more practical will be needed. Will probably get an RX8, pay off the bit of finance we have and then save a bit up and get (yet another) vx220 for doing track days in.

Only had the Z4 MR for a few weeks and it will be a while before i think about changing and it will be hard to get something so good for the money. However, think the 370z will be the next buy, think we will chop our 350z in for one eventually. Also fancy the TTS they have a stunning colour range - purple TTS soft top now that would be perfect :D . Need the price to come down, be a long wait for a second hand one in the right colour, but that could just drag me away from the M.

Mines a keeper, but I can see a GT2 appearing next to it in the garage in the near future.

I also have a very strange desire to buy a Daker yellow E36 compact drop in a larger engine and drive it sideways everywhere

Don't do it, I bough my Z4 when my twin girls were 2
