What was your first "Sporty" car

The old sporty ones were good fun but I think the 60's cars were not the one's to have an accident in!

That steering column in the mini was one solid lump of steel from the rack to the steering wheel! No collapsible joints in those days, Petrol pumps that ticked away as long as the ign was on, non laminated screens - the list goes on - but they were fun and you could confidently fidde about and mend them!

And we survived to tell the tales!

Red seatbelts and comfiest seats I've ever had. Also, when someone tried to break into it I delighted in the fact my lock 'clicked' back on mechano style.

... seats were brill ..... what colour was yours neil ? Yellow.. Red .. Black or silver...... or even rarer the metallic blue or Grey.

SNAP!! I had a black cinq (although without orange stripe), took it from 25000 to 80000 and all over the country. Most terrifying journey was 5 up going to Alton Towers in the rain. What do you reckon would be the equivalent now? I really like the new Fiat 500 - I don't know if that revokes my right to post on here but they just make me happy!

1978 Fiat 127 Sport 1050 cc
1985 Mark 1 Uno Turbo
1985 Porsche 911 3.2(that I have owned for 10 years)
1988 Mark 2 Golf GTi - sold with 225000 miles and still on original clutch.
and last year a 1992 Peugeot 205GTi 1.6 which was just superb - wife told me to start acting my age and I bought the Z4.

So probably the first "sporty" one would be the Mondeo ST200.

I have had my drivers licence for 15 years now. And is on my 3rd car :lol:

The second car I owned is my current winterwreck: My '98 BMW 318i sedan. Bought it in '01 and still have it.


My first car was a '88 Mazda 626 2.0 sedan
Bought it from my patents back in '95 and sold it in '01.
