What Should I consider as another sports car?

So the 4C was driven and tested today. It's an awesome bit of kit.
Staggeringly quick hitting 60 in 4.1 or so seconds and go cart like qualities. It exudes track car and a race heritage like nothing I've driven before off track. Looks drop dead beautiful and hugs you inside its carbon tub, but could I live with it? Sadly a big 'NO'
The engine is simply deafening and is a constant roar and wheezing from the turbo behind my head. 4 cyl. isn't too pleasant either and left with my ears bleeding. Every piece of gravel on the road feels like a speedbump and even on a very wet drive it's hard to stay the legal side of anything. Makes Lotus Exige and the likes feel civilised and the final nail is enough carrying capacity for a sports bag and £43k. Getting back into the Zed felt so serene (and slow)
Dealer also had a really nice 124 Spider Abarth in but I'm just not sure about an MX5 and a pimped up 1.4 engine. It's very pretty though and practical. Brand new for £32k isn't so bad either

Actually in the flesh it looks awesome. Proportions are spot on. On that I cannot fault it?
Go with the f type v6s,Phil....Cracking cars to look at,and be in.

As much as I love my Roadster,as said,go for the Coupe f type......It's just glorious looking. A few near me,I don't tire of seeing them
Agree regards the Alfa,too hardcore and not worth the money,imho.

My mates just bought a new Mercedes AMG A45,with 10k of extras......Remapped to 430bhp,from 381,and goes like stink,but the quality of the plastics are poor.
Same with the Alfa,and Fiat,both felt cheap inside :thumbsdown:

Quality is right up there but a 1.4 is just too small even when stressed to 170hp

I'd rather pull my finger nails out than pay good money for a Vette. There's a guy in the village with the latest gen Mustang and it appears to have had the throttle replaced with an on/off switch. Just about sums up the owners...[/quote]
They might not have the pedigree of an aston but the modern corvette is genuinely a good car. Relatively subdued around town, rapid, very rapid and actually handles well especially compared to the older variants.
Build quality is typically american, boot lid has about 12 metres of flex, didnt like the awkwardly shaped steering wheel, cheap switchgear etc. but it was a brutal bit of kit!
Wouldnt have one over most things on the shortlist but deffo a far cry away from the mustang imo
Out of the shortlist, cant look past the vantage personally!
Mine is probably the one car I constantly wish I didn't sell. It was slower than my porsche, it didn't feel much faster than the z4m, maintenance was always going to sting, but nothing had the same presence and sense of occasion, can imagine the drop top being that experience x 5.
It's stunning isn't it. A couple of years ago when the prototype came out it was a wild, bewinged car that was supposed to cost about 80k. Now it seem seems the car may not quite look like the first prototypes and it's going to start at half the price.Rusky said:Zeld4 said:

I see that Mr. CJ writes that US cars is not under consideration. But lets face it; later US sports car models have moved towards firm “European” steering & handling the last years. Especially Ford Mustang has improved its handling for their latest models. My impression is the latest models are underrated, and there is a lot of value for money choosing a late Mustang. The car could be worth a test drive to make up an opinion…. 8).

I should perhaps apologise slightly as I'm not wishing to insult US cars per se. In fact I own 2 proper Jeeps.
Most certainly they have upped their game and now can turn corners, handle and not just brute power. They are certainly value for money.
