what next...?

Dear god that's cheap.

I don't think any of us will be moving on rapidly at those prices, losses abound.

When I do move on, BMW will have to do a lot to keep me with their brand! (not likely)

Yeah that is a lot of car for the money indeed. Unfortunately BMWs will always have poor residuals when they keep dumping so much used stock onto the market.

Agree, as mentioned above the Z2 might be one option... Or wait another 3.5 years for the next gen Z4... :?

Unless they drastically improve the styling over other new models (1 and 3 series) then it is indeed time to switch brand.

Hello there young chap  try the Porsche brand?

Kryton,

I'd love to, love the style of the Cayman S but it's not really that quick and it's NA so thirsty too. Insurance is mad @ over £2k in Manx.

Tried a 911 carrera 4s and even that didnt move me.

Soo difficult.

Feel fed up with issues and depreciation to the point I'm considering a new diesel golf!

Err... I was replying to Z4 Beemer sorry for the confusion :)

Hehe :D Kryton, a Porsche will sit on my driveway at some point in the future, that I'm certain of. :driving:

Any update on your new 911 ?

Oh my lordy Kryton that looks LUSH

and only two months to go

that looks amazing Kryton

Z4 beemer,

what about an Audi S5? I am on commission basis with Audi now

Can you arrange a group buy? :P I would like to do business again with Audi. They were great to deal with when I bought the A1.

Kryton... Well, what can I say... it looks AMAZING! Very sleek and classy, with a modern twist. Look forward to hearing about it on 1st March.

I'm very, very jealous Kryton - great choice of spec/colour :)

I know this is the E89 section but the same thing plagues me: what the hell will I replace my E85 with. Honestly at this stage there's nothing similar within my budget I'd consider - I reckon I'll only change if I need more space/seats/etc as it does all I need and more.

good point, I am still negotiating as you know, they are hard work :| but to be fair, he is a good chap and said they can do up to 41% discount on brake discs and oil filters! has got something to do with Audi not over pricing everything from the beginning so not much room for haggling.

Mercedes have issued details of the new SLK diesel.........seems like I might have found my next car, fancy obsidian black with red leather. Quite quick 204 hp, 7 speed auto, 0-62 in 6.7 sec and 56 mpg combined.....perfect for me I think doing 500 miles a week :)

They'll do you nail polish to match too I believe - though I'm not sure they'll match the interior colour... Must check :D

I'm also really happy with my E89 35i and have had no build quality issues  Since i only got mine back in September im looking to hang on to it for the next 18 months, similiar to the OP i dont usually keep my car for longer than 2 years but it doesnt make sense for me to change when nothing's making me twitch, plus the F30 is only just becoming available.

If your getting bored and have a 35i/is a great upgrade path is to get a decent tune like the ESS direct flash and a 3rd party code reader. Stick stage 1 on it and its honestly like driving a new car (like the 35 should have come out of the factory). Then you can always go for stage 2 if you want to experience a whole new level of performance  I'm looking to switch to stage 2 in the spring to keep it interesting but I guess it's all down to how comfortable you are tweaking your current car. Its just not for some people, although you can have alot of fun, keep some of your money back and reinvigorate your interest in your motor.

Well i can tell you now its not going to be the new Merc SLK..finally test drove one today, er, NO.

So many rattles and creaks, uninspiring interior, no exhaust noise, engine sounded thrashy and underpowered (184 bhp same as z4 20i but the 20i felt and sounded so much nicer).

The merc ride was better on the motorway, but thrown around or driving in town felt like a combo of jelly on a plate with harsh ride at the same time, i dont even know how thats possible lol.

Anyhow, not for me, and i was so happy to get back into my 35i. deffo go with a Z if you like driving...
