what next...?

Well had a look at the SLK today, no test drive as they have just taken delivery of the 204 BHP diesel, which will be used as a demonstrator so once that's up and running will have a go in that as that's the model I'm after.

First impressions of the car in flesh

Prefer the look of the standard model over the AMG, which looks to angular and fussy, however it does need 18" wheels. The boot is way smaller than the zed, a lot smaller but it does have a space saver wheel......no run craps. Overall impression is that I quite like it, but I think the zed looks nicer

The vario roof I think is a must, it's quite claustrophobic inside with black leather and probably to some extent red too, if you choose black leather the aluminium trim is a must. With red it would have to be black ash or piano, the AMG interior is very nice, liked the cup holder position and the big cubby hole under the armrest. Driving position is very good on par with the Zed, seats are much better than the zed though. Overall on the inside it feels a better quality than the Zed, on par with an Audi.

Whilst there, had a sit in the SLS convertible.......OMG, absolutely gorgeous, given the means I would have that over anything else, stunning, real presence and just jaw droppingly gorgeous.......I want one....

Will b interested to c what u think sars as my test drive, well, I couldn't wait to get out of it. While the interior is nice it's nowhere near special unlike the extended leather of my 35i and the creaks and rattles in the merc were a real surprise.

The suspension is truly awful and I felt a bit sick, wobbly and hard, it should surely be one or another. Dynamic suspension I expect is a must.

Overall I couldn't see myself paying the price but then I can't find anything that gives me the fizz like mine.. Guess that's why I got it in the first place.. Can't help looking tho! Like being married to a supermodel but still checking out more talent!! Lol

You might have hit the point there sars... My neighbours has the 17" wheels and is a standard non-AMG model, but they do look a touch small.

When my Zed is parked next to the SLK it always surprises me how large the rear window on the SLK is. It just doesn't seem a very sleek car. I agree, the Zed looks better.

Surprised at creaks and rattles and suspension/ride. Good comments though.

How can you peeps afford to change cars so often, especially if you are buying them from new? Or are you leasing them?
