Ive just used mine this last week to work.
Now I dont hang around, and am addicted to the sound, but managed 27.4mpg over the last 220 miles.
What are others getting?
My old S2000 used to give me 29mpg, and the Boxster S 34mpg, I even used to get 29mpg in my M3 so I was expecting more TBH.

I travel 20 mile to work, on main A road, normally plenty of cars/ lorries to overtake :driving: , but its the same in any of my cars.

I never bought it to save money, butwas expecting about 31.
Maybe give it another week

Its still better than my Legacy B4's 20mpg

More than that but never really measured it that closely. V'Very surprised its worse than the S2000 if you have a heavy foot :o

Plenty discussion on that here:

Nothing near that.
Usually 15 - 16 mpg, US Gallons, spurt button on all the time - mostly around town, "spirited" driving.

29.7 I am averaging on the way back from pistonheads having some fun with Jonny five it was a lot less.

I honestly think its amazing the performance economy balance on these cars.

So I reckon on normally getting 32 mpg in mine - and that's an auto. Considering I don't use mine for motorway driving, I guess I am lighter with the right foot than you. Even had 34.5 on a run (I did drop it into neutral downhills occasionally though :D ).

Cheers

Thanks Guys
I think with the weather being colder wont help, but will try again next time I use it.
Its washed and away in the garage now as the snow falls.
I think a lot comes down to my driving style, I ran out of revs and it cut out yesterday overtaking a fleet of traffic  That wont be helping matters.
It seems to run fine, just serviced, smooth etc.
So judging by what others get, I doubt its a problem with the car. :)

around 20-22 around town and up 40 on the motorway so a normal drive would be about 33 I would say.. (on my 3.0 coupe)
The later 3.0 si is better of fuel, but thats impressive getting anywhere near 40mpg on the motorway.

Really trying and all motorway it can be done but it is hard work sitting between 55 and 60 for the majority of the time.. I forgot the latter 3.0 was different apologies my values are probably slightly off for the OP then..

you need to go and get it looked at. i get above 30 most of the time including the 3mile trip to work. 3-4 days a week and some motorway each week.

for a while i lived in runcorn and drove to liverpool city centre and got 30-32mpg

last week i went to farnborough from liverpool using m6 m40 m25 m3. on the way back it was suggested to not use the m25 so tried to cut up to high wicombe (42) on normal roads and ended up sat in loads of traffic and getting lost and finding myself in reading so backt o m4 along a bit... up to the m42 and back. I got 36-37mpg as i was curious so reset as i filled up just before the m62. oh and i sat still in crap loads of traffic on the m6
.
i dont do 55-60 as i dont see the point in owning this car to do that... get a diesel mundano for that. so on a motorway im ~80-85 or as the road goes basically. ive found that mpg difference at 70 and at 80 is very little.

this was on tesco finest 95 ron and some from the esso up the road.

Hmm I'll do some more tests as I havnt for some time. I use my zed very infrequently and the journey is usually either 10 or 35 miles (london speed bump roads plus some motorway)

If I were to drive to work it would be 1 mile..

I'm really surprised at the mpg some of you are getting. My Si is giving me 24-26, running on VPower, motorway & local B roads. My old 130i used to give me 29 for the same journey.

I do mainly long journeys in my si... In the 3 years that i have owned it i have averaged 30.1mpg.

I have seen it as high as 42mpg (on long motorway drives) based on fuel used.

In city stop start traffic is it in the mid teen!

Over the last 500 litres I have averaged 25.94mpg.. Daily commuter, 13 miles but through Nottingham City.

i barely get out of 4th sometimes. in all the time ive owned it ive got 30.4mpg as its never been reset.

the other mpg is down to 34.6mpg now ive been about town.

i find this car better on the consumption than my old 1.8 focus
