What is the best car you've ever driven.....

Not necessarily owned, driven. And why?

Mine is a 1978 Ford Escort Mk11 Group N rally car on a "rally day" at Silverstone many moons ago. It was ferkin awesome. So much power, probably about 140bhp, all configured to do the right things. It was like driving around in a rear wheel drive Meccano set.

v10 r8 for outright lunacy but the c63 amg i thought was the better all rounder both owned by a mate with too much money :D

Ferrari 355 manual. Not so much the power but the chassis balance and noise is by far the best I’ve ever experienced. Having said I’ve never driven much exotica.

I've not driven any exotica - the nearest I got was a day driving Maseratis around Millbrook back in 2008. The Quattroportes were just fantastic - how they performed and sounded just seemed fantastic in a 4 door saloon!

But the best so far has to be the one I have now. :D

Ferrari Enzo, simply mind blowing perfection in my eyes, especially through the French/Swiss Alpine roads with a few friends in other nice cars. We took turns in the Enzo, McLaren SLR, Ferrari 550M and Ferrari California that a friend had lent me over the course of four or five days. I then used the California for a 10 day holiday in Tuscany, that was a pretty special jack of all trades and surprisingly practical (in relative terms).

It’s bitter sweet having a taste of something I won’t ever come close to again!

Wow, I'd love to meet your friend - please!

For me it is the car I have now. I am lucky in that respect because what I aint ever had I haven't missed. hmm...that could open a can of worms. :D

A difficult choice, either the Ford Puma, the Steve McQueen one that is, or my old Z4 2.5 Si. Both were a joy to drive on a twisty back road and both had engines that screamed to be pushed

911 997 GT3.

911s are just annoyingly incredible. You don’t want to be a sheep - but the feel and the precision...like a Swiss watch that makes everything else feel like a Casio. You drive one for five minutes and it makes you feel you’ve owned it since childhood.

Shame prices are hilarious. Maybe just got to suck it up.

Seriously?? I can see you're from Surrey, but seriously?? I'm embarrassed by my Escort story now

Once in a lifetime and nothing I can take credit for, just a very generous friend in Switzerland.

I’d say the car I miss most is my Renault Clio Williams II, that was a lot of fun.

I wouldn't be - I had a MK2 RS2000 in the early 80s (when I lived in Surrey) and I could use and abuse that no end while just about staying on the road, whereas cars I've had since would have spit me off into the scenery!

Was a part-owner of this some years ago.
Was fun while it lasted, until the three of us collectively destroyed it. 8)

Maddest (+hardest to keep in a straight line)..Dodge Viper srt.

Best for thrills/top speed (out with my z4,no joking)..... Lamborghini Muicierlago LP640, the year it came out....amazing,200+ mph car round Thruxton, until the tank ran dry(almost)

For pure handling ability...
GTR ,2012 model,when new,for its gadgets,

But better still, for its Pureness, and that feeling,as if it were honed out of one piece of metal, was the 911 Gt3RS.
And I like some Porsches, but find others a bit numb.....but that car was bloody awesome :D

Sorry, couldn't limit to just one,lol :driving:
