What is inspected??

Hi all

I got my Z4 without any service history (dodgy I know.. .but moving on). As I have no service book and no stamps I can see two options:

Carry on with no dealer stamps, as its unlikely anyone will trust 'half a service history'. Do the service myself and re-set the indicator. I'm pretty handy with the basic-mid level stuff, so dont see this being an issue.

Go to BMW and get a new book and start stamp collecting. I drive 25-30k a very aso thats a lot of stamps!

My main question is.... what is inspected at each inspection?

***EDIT*** think I have found what I want on the inspection from a search...

Do you all think its an ok idea to DIY-it? Personally I'd rather trust myself than anyone else to do it!

You can get the service history (the ones that BMW have done) from the dealer. Just need the VIN.

Depends on age and value of the vehicle as to DIY services. You bought one without so no doubt others are prepared to if the price is right. However always a downwards bargaining point if you can't prove service history - and no doubt you used this to get a good deal.

General overall condition should also be an indicator as to how a vehicle has been kept - obvious points are cleanliness inside and out and then a thorough check over of the obvious before purchase.

If you can prove an up-to-date service history from BMW then I would continue with it.

Resurecting an old thread....

A while back I rang BMW and got a list of the history of the car and its services... but the BMW garages it had been done at had no records because 'they had updated their systems' and refused to re-stamp a new book even though the BMW database said it had been done....

Very grumpy at this point....

Fast forward to yesterday evening, whilst moving the passenger chair for a vac and a rummage for the elusive magic tree that had fallen off, i noticed that there was a piece of paper tucked right up under the chair.....

FULL STAMPED SERVICE HISTORY! :D

What a stroke of luck! Turns out whoever owned my Z before me loved it very much and stuck to the servicing schedule religiously!

Ace! then i found my drivers cup holder is broken! haha!

There is quite a few old posts coming back to life.I wonder if anyone ever thought about a mod to de-ginger their zeds even before the facelift came out?
