What have you done to your E89 today

Took the Zed into my local garage to have the new 96nm rear springs fitted..just messaged to say part of the reason for the hard ride is one of the Ohlins springs has snapped!

Will get some pics

So left hand spring had snapped.

Garage is having difficulty getting the ride heights set.

Went out with new springs with plenty of wheel arch for a 20 mile potter as they asked me to see how it felt to me.

Much much better..maybe a tad too firm but not outrageously so..of course should tweak the damping to suit the new spring rate.

In a world devoid of limitations probably best to try a 88nm/mm versus this at 96nm/mm vs stock of 70nm/mm.

However it felt much better, less roll, still rode small bumps OK, no bottoming out.

So they'll try and jack the fronts to get with 5mm-10mm.

I'll be taking it off the road soon so will mess around..

May leave it till the first NC500 in March as that's the ultimate test of suspension and handling.IMG_3816.JPG

Picked up the car today after new springs and front arb drop look re attached!

The ride was much firmer..but not unpleasant …so much much better.

Some adjustment required on ride heights required…

But the ride ..it was so so good..

Even better after setting both dampers at +8..one was +9 the other +14..

I guess the Ohlins springs were tired ..30k of hooning takes its toll, a well nourished tele tubby as a driver..roof in boot..full size spare wheel..

Plus one set of springs for the whole range..IMG_0763.jpegIMG_0759.jpegIMG_0761.jpeg
