What have you done to your car today?

Was wondering why my lights were pointing at the floor - found my level sensor was in quite a state. Somehow snapped both the arm and the rod thing so just replaced all the bits. Satisfying little job - pro tip for anyone else doing this, if you take the wheel off, use a jack to compress the suspension so you can get to the bolts easier, oh and that plug is just a PITA to undo, as always.

I decided I was going to try and get my phone connected to the car Bluetooth. After googling and following this forum I noticed that someone had said that sometimes the pin is reset to 0000 or 1234. I got connected through 1234. Fantastic. Got phone book transferred and also found a way to get satnav in to perspective mode which just makes it look fractionally more modern. Tried changing the language but the Bluetooth menu is still in French.

Glad yours was simple. I had to take off the speaker grill behind the drivers seat and stick my phone camera behind to find the number because someone at the factory chose to be a funny guy :headbang: 6666 was my code

As it is a sunny day at last, I washed and waxed mine today ready for Christmas 🎄 now going out for a Christmas Eve day drive, somewhere not mucky :) I hope.

Gave the old girl a proper clean and polish after a few months of travelling most weeks. Also renewed front suspension, bushes and mounts, rear bushes and fluids last week of December Going in for wheel bearings on 5th Jan as front are grumbling a bit so doing all four. Then I'll get alignment and new tyres ready for more enjoyment next year! Oh, I also managed to source a new, yes new, handbrake mechanism in November. They're available without the pan but it was done from inside the car anyway. I saw a thread on cost of maintenance but my argument is find me another 2 seater convertible with these looks and driving position for very little running and maintenence cost. The car was bought and payed for years ago so it's more of a daily classic to me nowadays.

Had my drivers side halo sidelight out on my 3.0si. These are the ones that are a complete holder. I followed some of the threads on here and gave the bulb swap/upgrade a go. I went for the ring bulbs in the pic which were well priced, you just have to sand 1 of the fitting nibs off. Hardest bit was not dropping the securing screws when removing/fitting.

I also accessed my fog light to remove condensation build up although I did do it in situ. Used swabs on the end of a flexible engine bay bolt retriever to get in there!

You do not need to unscrew any screws to remove bulb holder. Just turn the holder counterclockwise some 30 degrees and pull out. Be gentle not to break off the holder wings.

one side came out easily - just slightly loosened the screws and turned the holder but the other one had larger, newer style torx screws that prevented it from being turned to release it. I think that side must have been a newer BMW replacement part. I also removed the xenon ballast to give me better access (big hands) and one of those was a struggle to get back on too!

Car's going in to indy for wheel bearings on Monday. I know these always rust to death so had a go at cleaning them up. Fronts look decent but the rears where nasty. What's the chances these separate?

Finished the manifold install and put everything back together. Next job a good wash and polish then the cover goes on until april……oops need to change the vanos seals …

Finally replacing the O2 Sensors, thought I might do it without dropping the exhaust. Never mind here goes.

I removed my strut brace. Don’t use second hand nuts and use a torque wrench…
