What have you done to your car today?

I have a pigtail kit on mine but it’s nowhere as long as 3GT. I just let it hang near the firewall and then run the trickle charger wire through the hood and windshield.

That worked out pretty well. I think that could work with my current pigtail cable without having to extend it. Having a bunch of tie wraps on my brace doesn't exactly say I'm factory installed! If my cable will reach from the ground terminal, I may give it a go! Good idea!

Just re-read your post and realized it may be due to difference in kits. I've always used CTEK (which is same as the BMW rebranded), but guessing the cable is shorter than Noco.

Sent the wheels off for powder coating. Going for dark grey satin but was tempted by black satin.

Cleaned the arches and Lanoguarded. Stripped off the front bumper ready for respray with the aero sideskirts.

Finally bought a set of Pilot Sport 5’s for the refurbed wheels. An expensive day.

I feel your pain, but in few weeks time it’ll feel great knowing it all got fine before spring time!

Bit more finessing my Z4 today. Pleased with my Alpina kit , modified rear bumper and dual exhaust .

Getting there but really happy with it so far. To think when I bought this I was adamant it would stay totally unmodified as it is so super clean and straight!

Cosmetics still to do

Code park sensors, need to learn how to do that first, anyone suggest someone local to Birmingham who may be able to do it ?
Paint calipers and bumper bars to match
White front indicators
Z4 badge removal from rear
Possibly paint stainless silencers black & tweak r/h as it’s a bit low.
White centre stop light

Sure it’s not everyone’s taste but I like it

Thanks

It was already a nice car when I bought it a little over a year ago. It’s an import so not rusty underneath at all.

Kept all the parts to change it back should I ever wish to but those spoilers would be a nightmare as they are bonded on.

I really like that rear Alpina spoiler!

I agree, spoiler looks great on it. Good fit and finish!

Read up on Alpina spoiler replacements when I ordered them as they have a website showing the process and what’s available.Expected them to be fibreglass but when they arrived they are plastic ( the same as the bumper) you could literally just paint them straight away. The fit was straight on too,no fettling required . Suppose you get what you pay for , took an age to arrive though. Ordered in July.

Yesterday... not today... discovered the drivers side radiator grill has taken a significant impact... wondering if some arsewipe gave it a kick as I have no recollection of hearing an impact whilst on the road. Oh well, my to do list was only about 20 items long, great to be able to add something else to it.

Could have been someone with a massive suv in a car park manoeuvre.

Possible... but it's completely taken out one slat and only damage one other. I don't care, but I am curious! I can't believe I wouldn't notice it quickly, and it's spent most of the last week parked up in a bay on the road I live on (and it is rare anyone other than a handful of neighbours I know pretty well park there, and I'd really like to think they'd say if they hit my car).

July!!! Where did it come from? I guess they had to manufacture it for your order...

That really sucks! :x Time to play detective, start checking the other vehicles for damage at that level on their vehicles and any transfer of paint! Let us know what you find out!
