What have you done to your car today?

Sorted the broken stud bolt. Needless to say, I was a little nervous when unscrewing the snapped bolt. But it all went smoothly.
Also, cleaned the MAF sensor while I was there. She accelerates very nicely and little to no vibration in the cabin. Even the gear stick is vibrating less. Was pretty good even before this.

Only thing is, it now seems to have the slightest of misfires. I don't know if it's my imagination. Anybody experienced anything similar?

Yesterday took the 2nd key apart to replace the battery. I have soldered the last time around 20 years ago :poke:
Today managed to program the key as the remote was not working

On subject of keys, my Mercedes keeps telling me that the battery is low, when it’s been in the key for 4 weeks. I’ve read someplace that the Duracell batteries may be long lasting but have a weaker output which can affect signal performance (in things like remote key dons) and to use a different brand (such as Panasonic). Anyone shed any light? And apologies to put this here… blame Micke 😉

Update: been advised elsewhere to try Panasonic, however research shows MB OE uses Varta so buy g those, in case anyone is interested.

Try a bigger battery. Instead of the CR2025 put in the CR2032. It seems to push down on the connection better. My wife has a Mercedes and it worked and stopped saying battery low.

Tried out my new numatic George vet vac, which works well, lowered the roof to aid drying the carpet and noticed the sunroof motor well full of water, luckily I relocated it last year, instead of getting under the car I inserted a length of 8mm studding from above, job done 👍

Thank you. If the Varta 2025 also fails after a few weeks I’ll try this. I assumed the 2032 was a bigger cell. Who knew.

Received this from a lovely chap on facebook, who was thinning down his car collection! A miniature Xavier! :D Brand new, never been out of the box.

Your Xavier model is much like our 1:1 scale Z4; that too never comes out of its box. May have to replace the garage door with some cellophane 😉

Finally got some updated maps for the satnav (2019…). The latest available and way better than the 2007 that were in the car :poke:

Installed new OEM BMW steering wheel emblem. I thought my old one was plastic and warped from the heat, but aluminum and bent. Was concerned new one would not sit flush on old one so removed old one and used 3M adhesive to glue new one on.

Can I ask - how did you do this / where did you get the update from?
