Here is link that steering wheel cover. Hint that cover is get this topic some hundred pages ago :D

Thanks Optima fits nicely and get that used very cheap price and that fits perfectly on battery box, only that 3d printed shim part need to be printed.

I'm definitely ordering one of those steering wheel covers! Just need to make a final decision on thread color and if I want the center strip. I think your selection worked very well. Thread color would go with my front and rear red calipers! Thanks for posting pics and link! Steering wheel redo was high my list! :D

Gave the shed a clean before local equivalent of MOT that I booked for tomorrow. The engine bay was also in need of a clean so took care of that also.

Drove up to Ottery St Mary today to look around their car show. Had a nice chat to a man with an immaculate TR5 in dark blue, made me realise how modern my E85 looks :D

Got the GapTech in, missed it on this car as my previous ones had it. Easy 15 mins job, still managed to cut myself when removing the ash tray

Cleaned the MAF. Wasn't too dirty though...
This weekend I drove the car for ~400km and I must say there is a noticeable difference in acceleration now. The car feels a bit less lazy at full acceleration at higher speeds/gears. So it was a job well done :D

Needed to machine polish the bonnet before touching up the stone chips but got carried away and did the whole car as the 'marred' paintwork was annoying me from a previous owners poor polishing:

I also fitted a couple of second hand purchases I bought yesterday. A gear knob and floor mats:

To end the day on a positive note, I received and almost instantly installed new tailgate struts. As far as I know, the ones on the car were 18 years old. They were not shot but did struggle to open the coupe’s heavy tailgate. With the new struts it work like a charm! Small things sometimes make a big difference
Struts that came from factory were made by Stabilus

I replaced them with a set also made by Stabilus (part number 441460) but without the BMW logo. Managed to buy a set for 52€ (~£44).

That looks lovely. Not sure about the Schnitzer badge or the extra long tail pipes though :?

Finally got round to fitting my new Aero sills courtesy of Lynchy.
There is a slight mismatch to the colour but I’ll give it sometime to see if I can live with it.
What I would say if how great the sills are considering my cars 18 years old, totally different league to the M3 e46 of a similar vintage.
Overall I’m pleased with the results 👍

I agree, the previous owner went mad with schnitzer parts.

They added front badge, wheel badge, indicator and steering wheel badge. Then a handbrake handle and digital gear knob. Then finally the tail pipes. All schnitzer. Probably cost them £700-£800. The tail pipes and gear knob were £300 each when new.

The pipes are proving difficult to remove and then will need new tips. So for now they are staying. The rest is slowly going.

Installed a new Driver's (LHD) door seal. After 21 years and thousands of entries and exits, it was starting to wear out. The seal was on backorder for forever but now it seems that everybody has them in stock, the supplier must have made a new batch. I also installed a new alternator aux idler pulley due to a bad bearing.

Lovely.

Ms deserve Aeros and probably should have had them as standard. I was surprised how clean mine looked behind the covers at 16 years old!

Another really nice Z color! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that color before.

Can barely see a difference in the pictures.
