What have you done to your car today?

Does anyone know if the E85/86 M steering wheel section you hold in your hands is the same thickness/circumference as the other E85/E86 models? I want to order cover material. Seller has not responded to my question. Looking at realoem they may be, but not sure. :headbang:

The M-sport steering wheel is quite a lot bigger/thicker than the standard steering wheel.

@Usel, I really appreciate you taking the time to do this post! This should save me a lot of wasted effort and money! Much appreciated! :driving:

If you are going to leave original cover on and buy a cover from aliexpress or ebay to go over the top then I would advise against it. You can actually buy one, they don't show a finished example in the photos, but I have seen one done and it doesn't look good. It ends up being way to thick and chunky.

You really need to find a company that removes the current leather cover and makes a new one to replace it. In the UK it's around £200 to have that done.

TBH I wouldn't want to fit a cover over an M-Sport wheel - it's fat enough already!

Most people seem to use Royal Steering Wheels who will do a custom fit to your specification, so plain leather, perforated, Alcantara, etc. Over £200 IIRC but I've only ever read positive feedback. If/when I need mine done I'd ask for the rim to be a bit thinner.

@Usel, I was wondering about that, if it would be more chunky than it already is. That would be a bit too chunky on a M sport steering wheel, but might be fine on a standard steering wheel! £200 doesn't sound too bad, I should get a quote w/shipping.

Had car detailed, roof cleaned and protected for another winter. Not bad for a 20 year old daily driver.

Not today as such but last Friday and Saturday, I had my car detailed and ceramic coated. I’m really happy with the results, it doesn’t look too bad for an 18 year old car.
