refurbed the VANOS unit

What did you change ?
Just Installed new Viton orings and teflon seal rings, didn't need new bearings. The o-rings were so hard and flat that when I pulled it apart the pistons literally just fell out. Now the engine pulls hard with no lag.

I recently added the paddleshifts, great addition to the car, better than I expected them to be

If you need a slip ring for the paddleshift I have one

Is that chrome or just the lighting?

Had both rear brakes binding for a while so done some investigating.

Both caliper seals shot and corrosion inside the boots.

New seals, pistons and slide pins fitted, all corrosion cleaned off and brakes bled.

Me too. Three litres of M54 torque + sport mode + paddleshift is actually quite fun :driving:

What instructions did you follow to take the VANOS apart and back together?

I watched several different YouTube videos. One by the 50's kid and one by shoplifetv are pretty good. The only hard part is the limited space to get the VANOS in and out of the car. All the videos are on E46's which have a ton of room!

Ty
E46 having more space than Z4? I'd guess it'd be the other way around :scratchhead:
Is there any danger of getting the VANOS out of phase? Any special tools needed?
