What have you done to your car today?

I would be very careful if you are thinking about doing this yourself on a coupe . There have been a few broken windscreens trying to do this and they had to have them finished by fitters . I am wondering if your windscreen darich has had work done before ??

No idea if any work had been done before but my car still has the BMW sticker on the inside which probably indicates it's the original screen.

Having now done it on the coupe, I've no idea how some folk have managed to break the glass. A bit of care and no metal tools, it was as straightforward a job as I've ever done on the car.

I`m glad it went ok for you :thumbsup: . I got the old one out but no way was the new one going in and I spent ages cleaning out the old sealant etc . : I would still advise anyone else thinking about doing this themselves to make sure you do it when you are not needing the car just in case you cant get it to fit . :thumbsup:

Agreed....It's not my daily driver so when the trim was delivered last night I wasn't planning on replacing but decided to go ahead since I didn't need the car.
I also knew that removing the trim wouldn't result in leaks.

I used plastic trim tool so the glass and paintwork were not really in danger at all and thankfully it all went exactly to plan :thumbsup:

Fitted heated steering wheel mark 2. This time went for leather and suede, with a centre stripe. Really impressed with quality of the mewant covers. Half the price of the previous one from PhatMods and a much nicer fit :thumbsup:

Drove it back from Como to the Netherlands, with a slightly unusual mid-Gotthard tunnel stop due to a broken down truck. Well over another 3000km added to the total, ticking over onto 190.000km as I got home.
 
A dent, a self-inflicted one, on the rear wing. :headbang: Put family wagon’s roof racks against garage wall for a second, which as a bad idea. Too small for a glue-n-pull fix, but after five heat-cold cycles with a hair dryer and ice cubes some 90 percent of the ding is gone — but still know it’s there… Need some cold spray or dry ice.

Gutted, hope you manage to get it sorted. Those sort of things are gut-wrenching. Just after having my wheels refurbished I leaned one against my garage door while doing brakes. Could see it going out the corner of my eye, but just couldn’t get across in time and it dropped straight on the face. I could’ve cried… :cry:
 
New water pump , new thermostat housing , new header tank and cap fitted today. Took me most of the day. Broke the top bleeder screw so had to go to BM for a new one. Had a leak from the tank top hose connection but redid it and ok. Plenty of heat in the car.
Test drove and ok so far. Temperature gauge bang in the middle. 😎

Thanks guys , the only job left in that area is the belt tensioner. The idler rollers look ok. The old water pump was dated 2003 , so it had never been changed !

Got the Zed out the garage to check it over as it has an MOT on tuesday.

It had a scuff on the drivers side headlight so I polished it out. Forgot to take a before photo, polished both headlights:

Those z4 headlights look brand new ! Brilliant job , well done. Unfortunately puts mine to shame , so another job on the list.
