Was on the way to college today morning when I felt a harsh vibration under acceleration and a choppy idle. Checked the codes after class and got P0301 (Cylinder 1 Misfire). Turns out it was just a bad ignition coil

We all get a little jealous… to be at college - even if you’re a tutor - and have a 3 litre Zed you’re in a special place. My wheels when I was at college was a Ford Fiesta 1.1 (Popular Plus trim no less)

Dropped it off with Mike at The Polishing Company for a Full 5 year+ Angelwax Nebula Graphene Ceramic coating including a full machine polish inc wheels and calipers, glass and interior. I’ve always enjoyed detailing but nowadays I just want to leave it to the professionals and just enjoy driving it.

Agreed. I'm blessed to be able to call a convertible sports car, not to mention a Z4, my first car.

Finally got the front right corner disassembled today (only taken 6 weeks lol). Clearly not been done for 20 years, as everything was firmly stuck together. Separating the control arm ball joints was the hardest bit.


Looking forward to reassembly with shiny new bits Hopefully it won’t take as long.

My steed got put away for winter today, so as per previous post I can get the suspension and a few bits and bobs sorted over the winter months.
I’d bought a Quickjacks 3500SLX lift a few months ago so hoping they’ll now start earning their keep.
Also I wanted to get my 224 alloys out of the shed but with a single garage storage is always an issue. So got rid of the old tyres, managed to source some wheel wall brackets off eBay, jobs a good ‘un.

Well we’re 80k miles, 20 years old and all original as far as I can tell. Nothing bad, but I’m hoping for a tangible improvement none the less. Just have to do the other side before I can road test (mid-November maybe :lol: ), and then the rear end by the end of the year.

I had already upgraded the brakes to 325mm which adds confidence and looks goood.
