All done and ready for my drive to the Chinese for a buffet takeaway.

Looking good and a great way to collect a takeaway as it should still be hot when you get back

Well I've removed my airbag fault, added a nextbase front and rear camera. Fitted an Echo Auto with cut off switch. Now Alexa can play my tunes and ring all my contacts. Added a black gloss side skirt decal then given it a good old wash and polish. All done and ready for my drive to the Chinese for a buffet takeaway.
Lovely car.
cheers appreciate your response 👍

Bit late, but yesterday I had a very enjoyable hour on the latest project car. (2.2i, only 52k, EPS fail and misfire, plus needs some cosmetic love)

Got my young apprentice, Ed (11-y-o) to sort the misfire, more or less on his own.
1. Listen to the exhaust note and note that it smells strongly of petrol.
2. Connect up the code reader, work through the menus and discover 'Misfire - No4'.
3. Top cover off, work out which is No4 and remove the coil.
4. Take out the spark plug and note it is wet and smells of fuel.
5. Refit spark plug and fit a spare coil.
6. Start the car and it runs fine.
7. Code reader again, still shows misfire (as it stores it). Erase code and check again. All clear.
8. Refit covers.

In all this, the only job I did was to reach the rear top cover bolt (Ed forgot his steps!), undo the spark plug and then check it was properly tight afterwards.
I also showed Ed the steps on the code reader the first time round. He remembered it all the second time.

A very simple job, but one he could do start to finish and see the results.

Gave us both great satisfaction, and it's good to see his tool-handling skills improving and that he is thinking logically through the problems and understanding we only change one thing at a time.

Nice work Ed.
It’s great to get them involved at a young age

Broke a couple of bits. :o

I hit a pheasant on the A303 on my way to Haynes Breakfast Club which put a hole in the front undertray.

Then when I stopped to refuel on the way home the strap on the fuel filler cap snapped!

Fitted new hub caps to my repainted wheels, for anyone who saw the state of them before.

Drove a few hundred miles through the Cotswolds and back and got sunburnt! Lots of fun!

Proved that if you're buying a 3m cantilever parasol, the Zed is the best car to use for transportation.

Also, lovin the colour of my alloys as the sun hits them!

Took it to Octane Scramble #3 today with a few car-minded friends :driving:

Great turn-out with over 320 cars, including a Diablo, 250GT, LFA, multiple Pantera’s, classic Alfa’s, a duo of Sharknoses, an SM- too many to list them all really. Onto #4

I just received my refurbished steering wheel. Went with perforated leather on sides, really love how it turned out. Now I just have to find time to refurb the soft plastic trim.
Dubbedown, where did you get your steering wheel done at? Looks great! Mine is pretty ratty...

Pulled the MAF sensor and cleaned with MAF cleaner to see if that might help with the bucking in 1st and 2nd gear. It has been an intermittent issue. So far the last 3 times it was driven, it hasn't bucked. Will need to drive it a few more times to see if the bucking is really gone. Just want to do one thing at a time to see if it helps. Prior to cleaning the other week, the clutch was fully out and it was bucking pretty badly. Need to figure out for sure what is causing this.
