What have you done to your car today?

880mile round trip to pick up our new puppy in the car today. Started at 3am and home at 19:30, several coffee and toilet trading stops required.... Car performed brilliantly. The Lancaster bomber drone has gone, thanks to the new front wheel bearings and she returned 40mpg at a very good average speed 😜 BUT, I now have a judder through the steering wheel when braking!!!! Surely not a warped disc!!! Investigation begins tomorrow.. I need to sleep.

Well I've removed my airbag fault, added a nextbase front and rear camera. Fitted an Echo Auto with cut off switch. Now Alexa can play my tunes and ring all my contacts. Added a black gloss side skirt decal then given it a good old wash and polish. All done and ready for my drive to the Chinese for a buffet takeaway.

Beautiful! I’m planning to black out my roof next week as well.

I just received my refurbished steering wheel. Went with perforated leather on sides, really love how it turned out. Now I just have to find time to refurb the soft plastic trim.

Looking good and a great way to collect a takeaway as it should still be hot when you get back

A day of graft on the Zed today in preparation for Sommerfest at Oulton Park tomorrow. Started with a full decon wash and Farecla clay mitt followed by detailing the engine bay, door and boot shuts. Then a full wax using Soft99 The King of Gloss (Dark)....astounding stuff ! Polished the wheels using Collinite 845. The fruits of my labours :D 20230602_160432.jpg20230602_160727.jpg
Then fitted a new windscreen surround rubber trim. Quite a straightforward job made much easier by the warm sunshine softening the rubber and making it very easy to manipulate and push into position. Very pleased with the fit and finish....100% better than the original perished one !20230602_160507.jpg
Next, I recently acquired a used windscreen scuttle panel in excellent, almost 'as new' condition from Umfaan here on the forum. I cleaned it up a few days ago, fitted 8 new clips on the rear and sealed it with Soft99 Nano Hard Plastic Coat in an attempt to keep the elements at bay and make it last a bit longer. Delighted with this also, again a vast improvement over the crumbling 20 year old original  20230602_160557.jpg
Finally, I fancied doing something different with the front kidney grilles. I've had the slats and surrounds sprayed in gloss black for quite some time but thought I'd go with Sterling Grey (same as the body) for the slats whilst retaining gloss black on the surrounds. Very happy with the results and the new look.20230602_174132.jpg
Well, the weather looks great again for tomorrow and the Mrs has got the pic-nic sorted so looking forward to a cracking day out !
