Impromptu cars&coffee this morning with 4 other coupes
The wheels on the blue one look huge. Great picture

Oh they are hilariously huge; 20 inch, don’t even want to know the width but those tyres are stretched more than Mrs. Incredible on a bungeejump

Gave the car a good clean, took it around the block to drain the water and left it in the sun to dry. Parked it up and put the new half cover on too, pleased with it.

The fresh paint on my E89 has had long enough to ‘Gas Out’ and cure now, so I’ve ordered another CarPro CQUK 3.0 kit to ceramic coat it over the weekend.

I’ll be doing a gentle polish with a very soft jeweling pad to remove any paint shop buffer trails, there aren’t many at all but might as well make it perfect. Followed by a wipe down with IPA, before applying the ceramic coating.

It’ll then stay snuggled up in the dry until next weekend for full curing

Sourced some parts for the Bluebus project. Not prewired for the mic, but the route to the boot is fairly easy. Decided to go for a complete oem look, with a mic behind the wheel.

Well, I have not done anything to the car yet, but this arrived in the post today ... can you guess what it is??

mirror1.png

It's actually this, a folding auto dipping mirror!! I guess I can say it came well packed!!!

Other mirror on the way and switchpack with folding button already in my possession.

Once the heated seat retrofit is complete, looks like I will be retrofitting folding mirrors :)

Replaced the air intake pipe as the original had split and the last owners fix of gaffer tape wasn’t really working.
Bit of a faff getting the jubilee clips on at the engine side, but got there in the end.
Also took the opportunity to clean the MAF while I had all the pipe work apart

Installed new drivers side fog light. The old one got hit by a rock. This was probably the easiest thing I've replaced on the car since I've owned it!

MOT passed this morning with a few advisories for 3mm tread left on rear tyres and all brake pipes corroded. The second one I was not pleased about because I have heard it can be quite an expensive and faffy job to replace them. I have also heard replacing with nickel-copper lines is a possibility? Anyone have any advice for this?

Much easier to fit that pipe with the disa off. Have you checked that yet?
