Z4Mariner said:New Z4 Coupe owner, so please tell more about those "Side panel support brackets", which join the bumper cover to the front fenders (wings). Would you elaborate on how they break and how to avoid breakage (and install new ones ?).
I have some slight panel gap variation in headlight to bumper gaps right side versus left side, and I'd like to make better. There's no slop in the bumper or headlight mounting. No record of the car having been in any accident. My first thought was to remove the bumper cover and check headlight assembly positioning, then remount the bumper cover with careful attention to alignment.
Thanks in advance!

Don't ever break them, you will regret it.

I think it really suits your white car, definitely think you should do the rest!
I got mine from ECS in the States, BMW is still carrying them, https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/front-bumper-support-right/51117165180/Dr. Zed said:grannyknot said:It's #21 on the diagram, attaches the top upper corner of the front bumper cover to the front edge of the fender.

My was broke when I bought it and have been looking for a replacement since.
Where did you get them and are they really that bad to replace?

How long did this take you? Any special tools needed?W63 said:Finally got around to refreshing the rear suspension on the Coupe with Bilstein B4 shocks and Suplex 06231 springs.... And did it need it.. Shock absorbers were completely shot with no attempt to come back out when pushed in, and the car had two different springs fitted one with the snapped pigtail.. Also fitted a replacement solinoid for the filler cap. What a difference.. Should have done it months agoIMG_20220821_184533.jpgIMG_20220821_184358.jpg

It took me about 6 hours with a jack and axle stands on the driveway. The solinoid replacement was the most frustrating due to very little access between the outer and inner wing. The Shocks and Springs were relatively straight forward. no special tools required.
Great work, can you post some photos of your ride height, please? Keen to see how the car looks!W63 said:It took me about 6 hours with a jack and axle stands on the driveway.
