What have you done to your car today?

Meguiar's wash, dry, T-cut (Color Fast blue), Turtle Wax Colour Magic Polish (dark blue) & Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection.
It was too hot to wash the car to be honest, but wanted to do the lot in one day. Looks a lot better now though  .

I did this. And I love it. Courtesy of a fellow forum member. Also have a clear 3rd brake light to go in instead of the red one but I’m not sure I even own a socket set anymore :)

Here I am for the third day. Having spent 2 days digging out and re-tapping a snapped bolt. I managed to do exactly the same with the replacement. I could kick my own head in.

Start again

Hi Chris.
New bolts ? :? I believe they're single use. TIS says replace them.

Fitted my freshly upholstered alcantara headliner. Also helped a mate with another E86 fit his new steering wheel. A day of lovely mods

Replaced the passenger side window regulator!

Thanks to bigwinn and his 2.2 breaker for the parts and StigJ for the howto guide (https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69260)

Got it finished just before the light ran out!

Not mine, but the Mrs.

Removed the wheel and stripped it, cleaned the trim ready for install onto Royals steering wheel purchased from Big Andra

Looking a bit better after some elbow grease and neat alcohol on a microfibre;

A little more work to do though, the camera never lies

focus isn't that great on the dirty pics but I can't believe they are the same ones. It looks like they have a lot of damage in the dirty pics and not a sign of anything in the clean.

what did you use just APC and some reviver?

A microfibre and neat alcohol (same stuff I use for cleaning a panel after polishing)

The MSport wheel trims have a rubberised paint finish that degrades over the years, I’ve just carefully cleaned this off to reveal the plastic underneath. It’s a bit fiddly and takes a bit of effort, but good result.

The after pic’s do show a couple of tiny bits that aren’t 100% but I’ll sort those before reassembly

I should really have some as you need that stuff to clean CPU's and other computer parts but I end up using the wife's nail polish remover and baby wipes which usually does the trick. Might need to get some though as obviously it has a lot of other uses.

You ever used a magic eraser? Apparently they are great for cleaning steering wheels.

Drove up to Lancaster University today with wife and daughter to watch my daughter receive her degree. Took ages longer than it should due to traffic but looking forward to being proud parents. Sadly not in the Z4 as needed 3 seats and a large boot. :D
