What have you done to your car today?

So update on the rattle/knocking, need to find a suitable test road, but seem to have fixed it based on regular road surface.... was one of the bolts in the steering rack was slightly loose. FWIW it had all the characteristics of worn/dead drop links, but tightening this bolt works out a lot cheaper!! Also tightened the steering up a bit too

New Wiper Blades fiited to the E85 the cheap aero blades I had on the car started getting hardened rubber and didn't clear the screen in parts. Went for some Bosch replacements on ebay Bosch SP21S + SP20S SET. Usual hook fastening and they sit on the screen ok in particular the nearside outer.

Sorted the paint on the Mrs car over the weekend; She’s very happy with the metallic flaring in the sun today 8)

I know the wheels are filthy, but they need a referb so I’m not spending hours cleaning the baked on brake dust off

Picked up my 108s, refurbished and painted by Simon Ireland, located in Licolnshire.

Looks amazing mate, what is the "official" name of this colour? I scuffed my wheels couple of weeks ago, took it over to get it fixed and repainted but the shop is saying they can't match the existing paint. So I am thinking of redoing the whole lot in a different colour as I am bit bored with the current colour scheme.

Cheers man, its Pearl Gold by FX paints, satin lacquer on the inner, gloss on the drum.

What have I done...................... just 'what have I done?'
Mrs W is 60 today. Went out to meet an old friend for lunch. I suggested that as 'Project Freeleeta' is more or less complete she could take that to see what she thinks.
After leaving the house in a pall of tyre smoke she eventually returned home to say she wants to keep it and sell her 2.5i auto!
Kind of semi-convinced her she needs to think on it a little more, but I have a feeling there's soon going to be a well fettled Sterling Grey 2.5i auto on the Sales page.

Got an expensive looking amber light on the dashboard today…

Guess it’s time to put more fuel in!

Least now she will have a real engine in her car. The difference in mpg is next to nothing anyway is it not?

Same engine. Different strokes for different folks. Or maybe more BORE. Can't remember off-hand.

I think I'm going to paint my strut braces at the front and the engine bay.

Anyone who has done this did you strip the old paint off using paint stripper or sand it at all or just being straight over the old paint?

Also what paint did you use as in type and make not the colour. I'm looking for something as close to Porsche Acid Green was hoping rustoleum or hammerite have something in that colour that's suitable but happy to listen to other alternatives used.

Sanded mine back to bare aluminium before spraying several coats of Simoniz Tough Satin Black. Also did the same with the radiator cross braces but no photos  20220329_162031.jpg20220329_173622.jpg20220331_163313.jpg
