What have you done to your car today?

Cheers lads.

Almost replaced them with a new set, which would've cost three times as much after tyres.

I'm glad I've sorted these as they would've ended up in the skip, a total waste.

Went to garden centre todayA0584884-D535-4058-990A-0F117E6B985D.jpeg and should have taken wifey’s car.

Had it out for a quick spin tonight after being shut up in the garage for a couple of weeks, just replaced one of the other cars last week and was toying with getting rid of this also... but even being nearly 13 years old it still looks and feels like new20220506_192535.jpg

Not exactly 'done' today, but made a start on getting ready to lift the engine out. Water pump failed so going on the cautious side and good excuse to do a full engine referb job over the next couple months, alongside a complete cooling system refresh. IMG_5540.JPEG

Fitted the aero carbon bootlip first!

Then had two other Zeds to tend to for Bimmerfest, bringing this weekend’s total to 4 and our overall E86 score to 8- not bad!

Finally gave my car a once-over, all set for tomorrow!

Oh man that really turned out great!

Thanks Bart, I’m really pleased with it. Although its the same Maldives Blue, it’s a little more strident than the exterior which has probably faded over time, but closer to the BMW Blue. Anyhow, you can’t see the exterior much when you’re driving and it’s made the interior a much nicer place to be.

Had the front dampers/track rod ends refreshed and the clutch delay valve removed and an alignment. I haven’t driven it yet but my wife says it’s a lot less crashy and prone to tramlining and the gearchange is much improved. I’ll see what I think tomorrow.

That looks amazing, oddly I was only thinking to myself a couple of days ago how would mine look with the dash and console in sterling grey to match. I saw a yellow car on one of joel’s YouTube videos with it done, looked fab.
