What have you done to your car today?

In preparation for my upcoming Alps trip at the end of June, and following the supercharger install, new engine oil, diff oil and brake fluid in today, plus some upgraded engine mounts, all expertly done by the team at RBM.

Off for a dyno run a week Saturday to see the output of all this engine work and expense!

I got the storm force cover….not quite sure I’m happy with it. Says it’s waterproof but after heavy rain it apparently “gatherers condensation” under it and creates little pools of water. According the site I got it from… https://www.carscovers.co.uk/?kw=cars%20covers&fl=791036&ci=570173583298&network=s&pm=&gclid=CjwKCAjwve2TBhByEiwAaktM1L2XCD9l450h6XsjxQ91a_EsEftXAJOdEAadmSHKe0JZ1C3GM911ihoCucEQAvD_BwE

It is. Possibly not the best for light duty such as this, but it really does hold its own in the winter. Mine is actually for a roadster but fits the coupe OK. The proper coupe one is a slightly better fit I imagine.

Cheers for the replies. I need a bit of an all rounder. To throw on if there’s a threat of rain in spring/summer, and then a more permanent fixture in winter. Sounds like the right one, but concerned if it’s not actually waterproof as Johnny says.

Where did you source yours from?
Anyone know I’d it’s the same product from stormcarcovers.co.uk as it is from car covers.co.uk?? Minefield!!

Funny you should say that, but I was given a coupe one and it fits Vall's roadster well enough too.
My E89 sits in the garage, perfectly well covered with an indoor cover I've had for years, tailored for a Capri.

I think they're all the same product to be honest... Overall I'm happy with it. But I wouldn't bother you the padlock and wire. The straps/clips are more than adequate to keep it on the car... Even when we had those really strong winds last winter.

I was given one when I bought the car but I’m worried that it might damage the paint work when it’s windy. Can this happen?

I got a Stormforce cover when I bought my current Z4.

But then I read the instructions - car had to be clean and dry before fitting it and living outdoors that seemed like more trouble than it was worth!

I was also worried about rubbing on the front and rear wings damaging the paint, so I sold it on here.

When I bought the car it came from a forum member and the previous owner of 8 years also a forum member had keep it like a brand new car. The paint work is like a new car so I’m worried about it becoming trashed while I’m looking after it. The cover is in the loft and perhaps it’s best left there to give to it’s next keeper.

A job that suddenly becomes much more simple than it looks, but improves the car out of all proportion to its complexity!

Gave it a much needed wash after the rubber marks from the track day and the crazy levels of dust recently (has there been another Sahara dust cloud??!).

Tried a new snow foam that is soft top friendly: Autobrite Direct Magi Foam. Clings beautifully and lifts rubber and dead bugs really well. I'll definitely be buying a large bottle in the future.

You really miss them when you don’t have them! What’s most surprising is the original owner ticked the box for the really expensive sat nav, but not £100 for cup holders. The irony is the cup holders are more useful now than the prehistoric navigation system!
