What have you done to your car today?

Did the soft top hydraulic motor relocation to the boot today. Took me around 3 hours from start to finish. That was a bit of a pain but thankfully I'm patient lol

I found the hardest bit was getting the blood out of the carpet!

Has it fixed your issues?

Mixed feelings...

Painted my foglights black as they had the dreaded condensation issue and it feels like the cheapest and cleanest option right now as new ones would fail eventually and I am never using them.
I just put some smoked tinting film on mine. It disguises the rot but keeps them useable.

 That was a tough job!! I'm sure taking off the top would've been much harder.

Unfortunately no, the motor is rusty and looks dead. I'm going to try to revive it like some forum users have with WD40 and letting it air dry.

Letting it soak in a tub of Diesel is the usual method of reviving a dead motor followed by letting it drain and then putting power to it to get it running, swop the terminals around to get it to run in reverse then once happy it works fit it back on the pump and test it lowers and raises the roof. Remember to put the parcel shelf in the lowered position before testing.

MOT day for the Coupe today.
Passed with flying colours and no advisories

And only 301 miles since the previous test. It really has become a garage queen

Excellent, that car is just gorgeous

Installed a joying 10.25 system. Been wanting a CarPlay set up for a while so took the plunge on this. Arrived mega quick (2 days from EU) didn’t have to pay any additional tax or duty etc.

Very straightforward to instal and works a treat.

In the agonising wait for the summer, completed annual maintenance with cleaning the roof drain tubes, wheels back on and it’s ready. I must have the slowest maintenance routine on this forum, but with up to six months and three feet of snow, what else could you do?

De-tango completed! I finally managed to source a pair of 'four clear spot' rear lights from the USA - second hand, but in excellent condition Β£220 inc. shipping and import duty. Fitted them this afternoon, together with a genuine BMW white third brake light.

While I was at it I also bridged the wiring to give me 'full circle brake lights' - https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1485
No one seems to have posted on this thread since 2017, but it's a very simple mod and I'm well pleased with the result

Sadly no. There’s a whole story there to do with superchargers, emissions, maps, o2 sensors and too much money, but MOT is this Saturday, so fingers crossed it passes this time!
