What have you done to your car today?

Finally I got home from work and straight in the garage to start rebuilding driveshaft cv joint after welding up hole in cv joint cover, never done this job before so it was a learning experience and a bit of a puzzle to get it together in the right orientation,it’s a bit like trial and error,my advice is don’t force anything and assemble the opposite way to what seems logical lining up the grooves and bearing spacings is wrong.Fitting on the car went ok although it’s a bit nerve racking hitting outer cv joint to fit shaft inside the hub.

Not today but…new tyres all round. Previous tyres weren’t the dreaded runflats, just old. These definitely feel a lot better, a lot less tramlining and the ride feels less crashy now. Did scrape on a car park speed bump the other week before I had these fitted so it will be interesting to go back, see if it happens again.

I just knocked these stainless clips up at work to replace rusty ones, not a good original material BMW,rust spreads from these and the hoses to the chassis.

After it's spent the last few months under a cover, I finally unveiled my 'new ' 3.0si (I've had it six months nearly!). Fitted number plates for my new reg, took off the previous owner's 10mm spacers from the front and the steering feels so much better and more like my old 2.5si did

:driving:
Now what's the weather forecast... :paper:

Not even a week in to ownership so not much to say other than the new good cover protector thingy arrived this week and today I fitted a new aerial as the bottom of the original one was starting to look a bit old - like it’s new owner - and replaced with a smaller whippy. Whippy junior, perhaps?

Today was spent swapping out my water pump and thermostat. Something I knew was well overdue but I just kept putting off. Amazed it made it to 127k
