What have you done to your car today?

Swapped onto the winter wheels and tyres, and gave the arches a proper flush with the pressure washer. Had a good look at the springs and suspension too as it’s started developing a crunchy sound on unbroken surfaces but its pretty rare. Nothing obvious bud going to have a proper inspection over the Christmas period; I suspect either the shocks or the top mounts.

Bagged some power fold mirrors on eBay. Now looking for the switch module with the button for it, and a retrofit guide πŸ™ˆ

So far today,

Taken delivery of O.E. Suspension parts for refresh and got the car up on to axel stands.

Car is currently on BC racing coilovers, but I want it close to standard. The best compromise in terms of handing, comfort and β€˜feel’ on any of my previous Z’s was my first silver 3.0Si which ran Sachs shocks with Eibach springs, so that’s where I’m going with this one

Now removed the BC’s and cleaned them up a bit for whoever buys them, photo’s in the classifieds.

The rear shocks were a bit of a faff, well taking out the roof shelf was, but nowhere near as bad as I was expecting from what I’ve read on here. Honestly wasn’t that difficult, not quite sure what the fuss is about.

Awaiting some parts from BMW Cheltenham so that I can put it all back together, might go and get them in the morning or might do something else instead :D

Off to the alps, proving it’s a practical vehicle

Nice! Put them on the bonnet length-wise if you really want odd looks

Had my struts professionally painted to match the calipers along with the crash bar behind the grills πŸ‘

First gave it a quick wash

Then fitted LED sidelights and new Osram Nightbreakers. Will be upgrading to HID in the foreseeable future, but since 90% of my driving takes place at night I figured to preemptively replace the now 5 year old halogens. Also turned up the beam one full turn as they were pointing at the floor.
