There you go, it's was my lock-down project. A rare 1971 750 sf cross-over model in factory spec' with the earlier 'camel back' tank and anti-social pipes, plus the sf upgrades including Ceriani suspension and monstrous magnesium race-spec drums.... great care is required in the wet! :lol:
It had one owner for 45 years before being restored and toured on by the owner's club chairman, then I bought it and have been fettling/detailing it between rides. I think There may be 5 or 6 on the road in the UK. I cannot believe how few people, including 'bikers' don't know what a Laverda is (was), particularly since the 750 cleaned up in endurance racing for several years and the Jota was the fastest production bike in the world for some time. They were fairly rare TBF, expensive and exotic at the time.Somerset moors Jul21c1.jpg
Lovely bike, and rare as you say. I remember my brother, who was big into bikes when I was a teen, used to call these a “Jumping” Jota. Is the nickname deserved?
Today I fitted Bluetooth adapter for music, which shredded my hand as I did it from the front rather than take out the rear trim.
Didn’t take any pictures of that.
I also fit a Maxton spoiler, nice and low profile exactly what I wanted.

Changed the front shocks and top mounts on the 2.2i. Took me all day, but well worth it as I had a little helper. 7-y-o lad from across the road. Kept him busy doing up all the nuts and bolts but he couldn't budge the knuckle bolts.

I fitted the correct clip for my smaller new battery. Small job, much satisfaction.

In actual fact, he helped remove and refit the struts, drop links etc, but I sent him home while I swapped the springs over.
The kit I use is safe and I do it in a safe direction, jut in case, but if something went wrong I would never forgive myself!
He came back and told me all about the lovely ham rolls he'd had for lunch while I was wrestling with springs. Did I see any of said rolls? Not a crumb! Methinks we need to go back to apprentice basics.
Just about to buy one of these. Where did you get yours from?
