What have you done to your car today?

Today I had a custom stainless system fitted at Simon's custom exhausts in East Kilbride. To say I'm happy is an understatement.

Got home and fitted my genuine bmw floor mats

Exhaust looks pucker mate, love it! What's it sound like?

Slightly deeper tone. Nothing too drastic.

Removed Hardtop with help of children, put in cover on stand and safely stored at the side of the house. Mind you I said that last year and discovered a bag full of glass in the spring! None of the children have owned up yet.

Put them up for adoption. :D

I've got my baffles out the rear box but if i was to change it up I'd just go for a custom back box with sliced twin pipes to smarten it up that's all. Looks good though mate!

Ditched the run flats :D

Also picked up a set of mv3’s which I had powder coated in *cough* Audi :? German silver over a black base which has turned out an almost exact match to the roll bar colour. Happy coincidence. :)

Now running a set of Falken ZE310’s and the difference between these and the continental run flats is unreal, I know guys on here have said it make a difference ditching the run flats but I can’t get over how much of a difference, it’s like a different car.

Changed the front and rear brake pads on my E85.

Rear Brake Pads 1.JPG

They were still the originals, but as the car has only done 5800 miles they hadn't worn much! The fronts were OK, but as you can see the rears have disintegrated badly:

:-o

Anyway, I've now fitted new EBC Red Stuff pads - so I'm looking forward to bedding these in over Easter :D

Decided at lunch break to head back to work in the Zed. I 'may' have been half hour 'over' the allotted hour due to having fun. The car ran perfectly , considering other than a couple of driveway starts after tinkering, hasn't been on the road since beginning of November. Lucky the boss was out today and due to covid, most of the business estate was also , giving ample parking

Taxed it £330
Pumped the tyres up
Had the 4,000rpm rev limiter in the passenger seat but it was not working, she was pulling some funny faces at times, although the 7,500rpm or what ever the M one is set to, one did.
So thats last year fuel used up some fresh in tomorrow.

It is still a special drive though.

I finally fitted an HID kit. I was really annoyed by the poor performance of OEM lights. It didn't feel safe driving at night, especially when raining.
Can anyone confirm that the hid bulb electrode must face downward?

Just cleaned Dan - it's a textbook defintion of a garage queen, having covered a mere 4200 miles in its first 17 years. It's the probably the lowest mileage E85 in existence, but under my ownership it will be driven as it was intended to be! :D

I’ve done a similar thing, but used Osram Led driving bulbs.

That looks like a nice upgrade, I was afraid led lights would blind other drivers, I wonder what is your opinion of them. Can you send me a link to these bulbs please?

Drove down the road to take car for an mot. Front calliper binding :headbang: drove back home and whipped calliper off. Piston out, gave it all a good clean. Put it all Back together, mrs helped me bleed brakes. Quick test drive and all better. Try again Tomoz for the mot

Used NCS Expert for the first time today.
Coded my LED sidelights to be DRL's . (I don't have Angel Eyes).
Well pleased with myself. 8)

Got my Alpine CDE178BT back from repair, it’s a far better unit than the Pioneer 80PRS, better all round performance and SQ.

They are good, I think the projector units need a clean though, something I may look into soon, another option is Bi LED units from Morimoto, but I will try a projector clean first and see what happens at MOT time!
