What have you done to your car today?

I finally fitted an HID kit. I was really annoyed by the poor performance of OEM lights. It didn't feel safe driving at night, especially when raining.
Can anyone confirm that the hid bulb electrode must face downward?

I’ve done a similar thing, but used Osram Led driving bulbs.

Did you have to buy new adapter clips for them to fit?

Had the 4,000rpm rev limiter in the passenger seat

 good that it was temporarily faulty

I’m in the fortunate position of when we drop to 4,000 I get asked what’s up, or if I’ve spotted the :police:

No, you can reuse old ones, they fit very well on the new bulb, but you'll have to flatten a little locator tab to be able to rotate them so the electrode is pointing downwards.
Also, I had to take cables out of the rubber grommet to push them through the bulb holder bracket.
If the bulbs don't work after connecting, switch around the spade connectors.
Hope that makes sense.

I just filed a bit off the originals and they fit ok.

Took the Coupé out of hibernation and whet for this season’s first drive. (Didn’t take any photos this time.) It started on the first turn of the key and drove well. It’s been connected to a CETK charger since early November.

When looking around in the engine compartment area after the drive I noticed that the date on the alternator belt said Aug 2006. It’s original to the car. :o
It appears to look okey as far as I could see. But I better get the changed sooner rather than later.

A quick dust down this morning and then spent the day up on the moors enjoying a sunny day bimble, with MrsG following in her Mx5. :D

Seem to be missing half a tank of fuel now since the 1st :driving: . Couple of days to get rid of the rest :driving:
Since fitting the eccentric sensor replacement , it does seem to be smoother and idle like its not running. Also pulls well , so really happy with all the winter tinkering done

Finally investigated a rattle coming from the passenger side in the cabin; turns out almost all 9 of the plastic clips that hold the door card on were broken. Said card has been off several times as there was an issue with the vapour barrier and the sealant but didn't realise I had busted the clips. Got new ones ordered but have a 3 week wait for them...

Replaced the original BMW spark plugs with Denso Iridium TTs:

I also got round to fitting the aftermarket left-hand cup holder I bought on Amazon. It's a very good match for the OEM one on the right, but I had to do a bit of filing to the rear screw hole to get the faceplate to sit flush.

I then made the most of the sunny afternoon by taking it for a much needed 50 mile blast to test the new spark plugs! :D

Filled her up with love juice ( shell V-Power ) and had a nice 60 mile drive through the Derbyshire peak district with the wifey :D

Quick wash and dry finished off with some quick detailer this morning, then a blast around the peaks

Cheers  I think the rear looks more aggressive and filled out now with the fully red lights. Just need to work out how to get the indicators to flash orange again

I can't find any either  it appears the only option is to paint some clear bulbs with green glass paint or try some extra bright orange LED bulbs :?
