Some preventative maintaince

Did you dig out the channel of orange rubber before you installed? Seems like the rubber o ring is just sitting on top?

I checked the fuses for any parasitic draw from the battery with a thermal imaging camera.

What was your conclusion? Was there any draw? :?

Depending on your previous wheel/tyre set up that will yield you some nice weight savings in your unsprung mass

Took it out, washed the grime and filth off. Put some more Gtechniq C5 top up coating on. Put it back in the garage. Next doors car was parked quite close, so I didn’t even take a photo. What a poor existence for a Zed.

Yes, they felt lighter than the 18’s that came off, they’re a beautifully made wheel too... very high quality close up.

Realistically, I’ll probably downsize on the tires at some point too, which will further reduce unsprung weight. I like the look, but it’s borderline ‘Carlos fandango’ with 255’s on the front and 275’s on the rear

No thankfully there wasn't, quite a fun way to look at it (also used a multi-meter to double check).

Okay well that's good! I wasn't sure if I was interpreting the photo correctly, the faint red is the constant live? If it were brighter then it would be an indication of parasitic draw?

Fitted my hand brake gaiter and new bit of bling. Not sure on the suede but I’ll leave it for now

I went to move the Z today to give it a clean. Did I not go and forget to remove my 20W solar charger. I ran over it. Completely smashed it. I am so cheesed off as it has been brilliant all winter. Ah well it will be back on the road on Monday so that will keep it charged. :x

It’s so annoying when that happens,
I spend the last couple of days replacing all my shock absorbers and front springs. All straight forward apart from those bloody pinch bolts on the fronts. Must have spent about an hour on each carefully convincing them to come out. New bolts and copper slip so hopefully never again.

Finally put everything together after doing some maintenance over the past few weeks. Went for a drive. Took pictures :D
Also, confirmed that I need a new driveshaft center mount. Or diff bushings. Or both :P

BTW. What is the correct place on the forum to properly introduce my car?

The only bolts that were an arse on anything I have done on my car. I replaced them with new and tapped the threads out and a smidge of coppaslip to stop it happening again

Fitted new headlight rear covers and finally got the airbag light fixed.

Went to RBM this morning to remove the H&R Springs fitted by the previous keeper and go back to normal ride height. Big thanks to Ross for the great job; I was also reassured to be told that I had picked a good car :D :D No hidden problems or issues uncovered when they worked on the car.
Then went for a drive with the roof down in the Chilterns :driving:

There is a "Newbies" header if you click on the "Forum" button near the top left of the screen.

Got a few things done in the last few days,
Front manky fog lights finally changed , at the same time investigated the reason for the headlight washers being disconnected (they seem to leak out of the actual spray nozzles on the headlight washers?)Never seen that before!

Sprayed the two metal bars infront of the radiator that had lost half their black paint.

Replaced the rear brake light, from a Chineseium one to a OE Hella, ( China one fitted better 🤷🏻‍♂️

And fitted the cruise control, absolute doddle to do, took all of 30 mins including running the wire out under the bonnet!

Also fitted a new focal amp to power the subs behind the seats. Need to still set it up, and then Rosie wanted to go for a spin 🤦🏻‍♂️
