Done. I have a warm fuzzy feeling now. I suspect the ebay seller will fall off their chair when they get the message

Pretty sure you restored somebody's faith in humanity today... we all need a little of that now and again.

I am a trade seller on eBay and I still get shocked on the very odd occasion someone honest comes back to me with situations like this, since these days most don't.

I have an internet store also. Years ago I double shipped an order and a good ole boy sent it back, hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise. I was embarrassed and grateful! Still give him a discount every time he visits

Changed front drop links

Holy cr4p it’s like a new car. No tramlining- holds so straight now. Can’t wait to do the rears now!

Plus the fronts I took off looked suspiciously like one was newer than the other...

Also- fitted the exhaust tips bought from on here- proper smart and not chav

20200712_175241.jpg20200712_180448.jpg20200712_181006.jpg fitted a scorpion over the weekend what a t**t of a job, the bonded down pipe bolts took hours to drill out, but now a job never ever need to do again
Now it’s bedded in and has burned off all the manufacturing newness smells, I can say well pleased, nice and quiet at low revs and even less noise at motorway cruising speed than the standard exhaust, but open the taps and from 4500 rpm the choir starts to sing, I would say from my limited time with the Scorpion exhaust, a quality well made grown up set of pipes :)
What do you think of the scorpion? I’ve got one fitted to mine and love it! It really opens up beyond 3k rpm, which is about 80mph in 6th. Not a bad thing for UK roads, but would be interested to hear your experiences

Did you go with Lemforder?

Moog

Never used them before but quality seemed ok

Reality is it’s now going to do 3k miles a year so it’s not needing to be bomb proof

Serpentine beltsx2
One idler as it was a little grumbly

I’m 50/50 about the water pump as it isn’t noisy but there was very slight play in the bearing...

Will wait and see

Maybe not to everyone's taste, but before my Zed goes in for some major spraying after a little incident, I swapped my wheel nuts for some rainbow coloured ones. Hopefully seen as they have a coating on and I've sealed them with Carbon Collective Platinum Wheels they'll not rust like all my others seem to have done! 20200809_232722.jpg20200809_232741.jpg

Finally got round to changing out the angel/halo bulb that had gone.

I don’t have a car lift/jacks, but was able to access through the wheel arch with steering at full lock.

Two small drill incisions, and I had the old bulb out and the new one in.

Not a bad job in the end!

Yesterday I bolted on a new H&R rear anti roll bar to replace the poorly fitting whiteline...the H&R fits spot on. Many UK suppliers will tell you that they can only be bought as a kit, which is blatantly not true! I have the part number and contact name at H&R for ordering if anyone else wants to dial out understeer.

Then took her for an mot today, passed no advisories with the mot tester asking if I want to sell the old girl.....he can have the wife but not the zed! DSC_4028.JPG

Got round to doing the boring but necessary wiper 'park' issue today

Used the guide here which was good:

https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bimmerforums.com%2Fforum%2Fshowthread.php%3F1115530-Fix-walkthrough-for-faulty-wipers&data=02%7C01%7C%7C27a385bafb284b6a3e9708d83dfd51b8%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637327505490945781&sdata=P%2B3Gc3Y4%2Fkoq0u4In4tPlbpyw1hchinlklc3bnmp0mo%3D&reserved=0

IMG_7679.jpeg

Fixed the issue- now parks perfectly every time! Also got a chance to clean in the front scuttle... holy cow! Half a forest in there. The offside drain looked like this:

IMG_7680.jpeg

My drive now needs a sweep. Can see how some scuttles rot with all that vegetation stacked up in it- mind you had even worse when I cleaned the same on my F32 and F31

Some things never change I guess!

Fitted my Forum sticker. I'll put a photo on the thread in the Gallery.

Done and off the list:

Rear drop links
Rear ARB bushes

That was bobbins but needed doing- thanks to all who helped on here!

Spot of painting in the engine bay, got rid of spots of rust, isopon primer, gloss black top coat(had a partial used can already in the garage) and finished off with some stainless bolts.
