What have you done to your car today?

So far I have the Cruise Control loom, (Thanks Steve), a pair of Mad Monkey back boxes, and a Gruppe M (both acquired from departed forum member JAD) sitting in my garage waiting to be fitted.

How are these working out for you, Steve? Hope all's well? JAD (couldn't recall my username - apologies for popping up with a new one!).

Long gone I'm afraid as is the car!

I sold it a couple of years ago and replaced it with a TVR Chimaera 450, which is now being kept company by a Porsche 996!!

How are you doing???

Installed LED lights in my E85 for the exterior door handles, floor puddle light strip and interior door handle lights and added a splash of red and black to my badges!

just had the bill for an INS 1 and a health check.....just over £1900!!!! And not a mention of Rod bearings....

Brake pipes
ABS block
Rear discs and pads
ABS reluctor rings
Anti roll bar link
Air con belt
Rear bushes
vanos clean / check
Brake fluid service

I did ask about CDV removal but they want to call back...

looks like the CSLs will have to wait a bit.

I need a new head light and BMW want £932.64 + Vat, does anyone know of a repair service, one of the HALO rings has snapped off.
Are the headlights the same as the roadster? I've got both sides left over from my E85 that I haven't bothered to list due to probably high shipping costs, plus they're the halogens and most of the Z4's here are Jap imports with HID/xenon lights. Not sure if asking you to PM me about them is a breach of forum rules? I'd be happy to list them on the Sales forum if anyone's interested?
Edit: I just noticed your M is Titan Siliver - my headlights have the black outers so probably wouldn't suit a silver car (as opposed to the chrome version headlights)

Changed the M s gearbox oil to Royal purple synchromax and fitted ceramic brake pads to the fronts.

Hi Jon, how easy was the gearbox oil change? and may I ask which oil?

The car is still at the garage, but today (ish) I have sourced:

  • BMW Tool kit (full!)
Bmw oil bag with velcro ( I got 2 for 1ltr of oil and a new tyre inflator / fom kit)
Used glovebox and surround, just need to swap lock / handle over.

Love that door handle mod- any 'how to' guide you can share?

Those wheel trim pieces snapping for fun though....

Jon,

Is it as easy as off filler cap, off drain cap. Then replace drain cap full up 1.5 ltr, replace fill cap and just start car an go, or do you have to do anything extra?

Did you use new gearbox plugs, filler and drain?

Yes bud,go for spin to get oil warm, undo filler first then drain.
Have a cuppa whilst it drains out, refit drain plug, refill and done.👍
I reused original drain and filler plugs

Short trip to the zed shed today for a much overdue roof motor relocation. Sitting happily in the boot now. Mike certainly has this down to a finely tuned operation.

Did he supply a section of carpet to cover the motor? :?
Rob

He did rob, thought you might like to see my nice shiny motor tho. It was absolutely bone dry, even after an hours drive in torrential rain. Got a free sticker too

Wow your motor looks new! Do you mind me asking how much it cost for the job?
