Measured and cut a card template for a wind deflector im making out of Perspex glass. Going to cut the perspex tomorrow with a standard jigsaw, apply a rubber trim to the edges, fix on with clear velcro straps and apply a Z4 sticker decal to the centre.

intrested in pics when you do this (though have factory fitted) - though word of warning, just don't do an Ed China......

'Video not available in your country' - praise be for VPN's  . I'd seen that one when it was on the TV, expensive mistake but made Edd look human at least

Missus car started making an awful racket so I charged up the Z4. Gave it a good wash. Pumped up the tyres. Then the wing mirror glass fell off and smashed.

Off to Halfords for a social distancing click and collect. Stuck it on right outside the shop. Success!

Has been nice driving it around after all these weeks.

Yeah, Zeds dont like being neglected. Her way of showing her displeasure...

Hey all, I've got a 2003 Z4 3.0. I wanted to get an Auxiliary cable so I could plug my phone in for Spotify and Siriusxm audio. I went the dealership route for an OEM part, others sounded sketchy.
After providing my vin# what came in was part # 82-11-0-149-390-1 I challenged it as I was expecting 65-12-0-153-501/2/3, they claimed it was interchangeable. Give it a try and we'll exchange it if it doesn't work.....Well it took the dash apart, plugged it in and dada! It works. I'm now Groovin to the tunes and shiftin gears!

Changed front pads & discs, but not on my Z4 :x. No wondered there was a noise coming from the front end when braking :? . The irony is I've already ordered brass caliper sliders & SS brake lines from Hack Engineering for the Z4, & was just about to order discs & pads. As you can see the calipers on the jeep look pretty similar, so at least I've had a test run. The discs on the jeep are 350mm & I needed to buy a 10mm hex key for the slider bolts, theirs nothing small on that thing.

Not actually done anything to my SORN'd zed today, however this did arrive in the post for it :D . It's in much better condition than I expected, the spoke covers are immaculate  . Plan is to send it to Royals in a day or two & get it fattened up a bit. Really looking forward to that.
I'll be taxing her at the end of the month so I'll then make the change & hopefully have a working mfsw

Nothing frightfully exciting today but changed brake pipe flexibles ( all 6 ) discs front and back, new brake fluid and new pads. Tried the new Textar Ceramic e-pads so will see how they go. Oil and filter change too, used Millers XF longlife C3 even though I change it every year or 6000 miles, whichever the sooner. Took it for a quick blast down the motorway to bed the pads in correctly.

Today I changed the salmon relays on my E89 roof electronics. I don’t know if the ones in there have been there since day 1 - in my case 2011 - but better safe than sorry.

This was the contact on the worst of the two relays removed. In the bin they go!

Bit of fine emery paper and some contact cleaner they will be as good as new. Unless you destroyed the case getting it apart

Yesterday it took me about 4 hours to replace the fog lights. It doesn’t help when you have a bad back!
To gain easier access I took the front wheels off. It wasn’t a difficult job just bloody awkward, wish I had a lift or was 20 years younger😀ECFE37AC-61E4-4004-8245-05B030F82A5E.jpeg

Is there any brake material left on that pad?! Looks like it's down to bare metal! :o

Swapped out a broken exhaust hanger this morning. Very quick and easy.
I went for a powerflex replacement. They are slightly cheaper than BMW parts and looks like its made to last.

Had the knackered lollipops changed for the polybushes variety, steering feels much better.
Also had some polybushed gearbox mounts added, bit more vibration through the cabin but hopefully they'll bed in a little in the coming days.

Finished my DIY wind deflector project....minus the velcro straps which are still in the post, so extra thick cable ties it is for nowIMG_20200515_161559.jpgIMG_20200515_161448.jpg!
+1 for anyone having a crack at some DIY

Car has just come back from BMR Performance after having her Inspection II and rod bearings replaced (preventative maintenance) with ACL bearings and ARP fasteners. A few other bits replaced and fixed.

Z4M has done 67k with good history and seems to be some good wear on the bearings...

Also had the Schmiedmann front splitter fitted..
