What have you done to your car today?

Car been in the garage for 4 weeks since we started working from home.

Adjusted the cover today.

Did you resisted the urge to get in and wiggle the steering wheel?
looking forward to being able to get out and drive :driving:

I got to drive her. :driving: :D

Walked the three miles to the Indy who services her for me. She"s been shacked up in there with him since her MoT. Then, after a thorough going over with alcohol wipes it was on with the gloves for the pleasure of the drive home in the sun shine with the roof down. Needed to take a slightly longer route home to ensure the battery was topped up. Back home in the garrage now. Who knows when she will next be out. :)

Isolation upgrade = red seat belts (would probably look better on black seats tbh, but I’m still very happy with them  )

(The reds all look different colours on this photo/angle, they match a lot better in real life)

Also I’m fully aware they are aftermarket and they’re a safety feature blah blah so please refrain from telling me I’m a bad boy for using them, thanks :fuelfire:

You are right would look better on black seats, not sure I would put them together with red seats. But if you are happy with them that's all that matters. I do like the painted roll hoops though!

Did get in and start it!

Not just today but .... full wash, run over with the DA (clay bar, slight cut, got some scratches out, polish), glaze (only Poorboys)... cleaned roof waiting for a cleaner kit+dye, took tips off and cleaned/polished, cleaned interior (washed and dressed all plastics, cleaned and conditioned seats, washed carpets, windows (inside and out inc some rainX on them).

Attempted to replace faulty parking sensor but as it’s gone hot they are all working (only affected when wet) and I can’t remember which is faulty and don’t want to take it off unnecessarily.

Fixed and aligned window mechanism.

Changed oil/filter/air filter.

Just need a new set of 108s or similar 18’s. there is no saving these without a refurb

It feels a bit like being a kid a Christmas and getting a new bike but it’s pi$$ing it down outside, so you sit on it in the kitchen peddling backwards :headbang:

I painted the front calipers a very offensive shade of red today!
I know not everyone is keen on red calipers. Personally I quite like them. These have turned out much brighter than expected though :P
Will chuck them back on the car tomorrow.

Fantastic 8) I always wanted to do this to mine but got put off by the whole safety stuff. Looks great, though as said the reds are a bit clashy. You only see the belt when you're driving anyway, so doesn't matter.

Fitted an Amazon Echo Dot to the Zed this morning, tethered to the hotspot on my phone, works great
what does it do in the Z4?
It records everything you say, sends it back to Amazon and their commercially interested partners, oh, and also waits for an instruction from you to play music etc.

That’s worrying!
I wonder if it just takes key words then acts on them or entire conversations?

It certainly puts me off buying one.

It listens for the Alexa command then connects to the cloud voice recognition to process your request. You can see what it’s recorded as it stores them all in your Alexa app. So technically yes it’s listening to you all the time.

If you’re that concerned then stop all google as that is way more intrusive

At least Google gives me email, maps, directions, translation etc. I’m not sure what Amazon gives me other than what I pay for. 😉

True. but google is very intrusive and records a whole lot more stuff than you could think. I wind the mrs up by searching for something really weird cos a day later it will come up on her Facebook feed. Buying stuff for the car is a right nightmare

Tbh it’s worth just turning all of Google’s tracking and stuff off just for fun.... the amount of things that stop working is astonishing.
