What have you done to your car today?

Taxed her this morning. Removed the cover & Ctek, checked oil & water then fired her up. Started first time  . The clock was showing ----:--:---- again, it did that last year too whilst parked up. Easy enough to reset though, no idea why it does that :idunno:.
Reversed her out from the garage & then set the tyres back to the right pressures & then took her out for a spin. Ran as sweet as anything, down to Costco & filled her up with premium before taking the long route back home :driving: . Roof down of course  .

Wow love the colour! What’s the new Z like?
Thanks :)
Apart from some minor problems with the sat nav (only in the dutch version as far as i can tell) i really love it, all the creature comforts you need for daily use, and when you put it in sport plus its a totally different beast, a little bit stiffer suspension and very responsive when you push on the gas pedal :)

Had the front wheels refinished
Here are a before and after pic

bottom pic is how I acquired it
Top pic is new tire/caliper cover gone/Wheel reconditioned

(both fronts were done - both were in equally bad shape)

Huge difference, nice

Finally got around to tackling the fuse box. Found some odd sized fuses in there!

Replaced them with the proper sizes and now have a roof that works and a cig lighter that has power. Phew.

Used the cig lighter to power the tyre pressure pump. Boy were they low. Took her down to Dublin for a few days. Traffic absolutely crazy. Hammered down with rain on the way home, pitch black, the Z4 performed like a champ. :driving:

Still have some nasty brown stains from washer fluid all over the front end of the car. Bought some concentrated screen wash that should dissolve the mess. Also picked up a clay bar.

Still need to sort the rear boot leak and fix the blown tweeters. :headbang:

Wow, sounds like youhave a bit of work with yours , You need some tape to hold it together too ? :)

Hi guys .
So over the last few days I've been talking to a car Matt company about the drivers side Matt not being long enough , and so there is a gap from the back of the Matt to the seat runners .
They sent me some paper samples , the p/side fits ok but the drivers side is short .
I've cut the Matt sample and added a few inches taped it all back together and company is going to do me a Matt to my sample :D

Yes please!

Sounds like fun though, would love to tinker with a car like that, but i have 2 left hands and close to 0 patience, so i try not to do too much to it :-P

New front brakes this week. New rear discs appearing tomorrow with any luck and get those done at the weekend. Need to bed the handbrake in as MOT is imminent :driving:

Cut open and replaced the rechargeable battery in one of my keys. A bit fiddly trying to glue it neatly back together. But works fine. I tried to get it to recharge in the ignition after the cars winter break. It wasnt having it. All good again now though.

MOT day: woke it up from it's winter hibernation - nearly 106K miles now and it sailed through no problem  As the weather was so nice I decided to use the right foot to drain the fuel tank this afternoon.. :driving: roof down - wish I'd worn a hat :)

Now it's going back in the garage: I have some replacement rear mids coming on Monday and I need to pull the interior apart to get access to the speakers :x also thinking about adding a sub for a bit more bass so I'll have a good look when everything is out for fitting/wiring options.

I now remember why I can't bring myself to sell it - It would cost me a fortune to upgrade it for something else and I'd probably only get marginal benefit - it's provided really cheap fun motoring over the last 5 years.

To do this year
To the paint shop for a few minor touch ups as my OCD can't take them anymore

Maybe to do but I'll probably bottle it
New exhaust system - it would be nice to unlock a bit of that straight 6 noise
Replace the roof (water tight - but looking a bit past its best in a coupe of spots).
