Did the MOT on Saturday. Passed with couple advisories. Had a long chat with the chap who came out just to talk about the Z4 (he wan't there when I dropped it off, but was waiting for my return, just to talk).
Long story short, he said, "great colour that Ruby Black", which was odd as I thought I had a Saphire Black! Going by the BMW db he said it's Ruby Black; I could half sworn I read Saphire Black somewhere!
Now I'm confused :?

Now to decide whether to fit these or just stick with my 224's. I'm very indecisive today

Put the 'French fry' trims on. I feel they look unfinished without them, especially as the lights have little dimples in for the trim to fit

On a side note Ben your z looks great- still one of my forum favourites
Put the 'French fry' trims on. I feel they look unfinished without them, especially as the lights have little dimples in for the trim to fit

its neither! It is Carbon Schwarz - the same colour as mine, bit of a blue tinge in the sun

Well well, thanks! On some web sites I’m sure I read Sapphire Black...
Funnily enough my wife kept saying it’s blue, not black!
Even more odd, it was BMW that did the MOT; they said it’s Ruby Black.
Last weekend I also went over the stone chips on the bonnet with touch-up paint - with, u guessed it, a Sapphire Black colour . Bugger!

I went to a paint shop the other day to mix some paint for mine. Said sapphire black according to under the bonnet and then came out from behind his desk with about 6 or 7 different variations, depending on how much metallic was in the paint and then toddled off made a bit of noise and hey presto a can of paint
