What have you done to your car today?

I have a sore back after all the bending over giving this thing a full detail and paint correction today!

Quite happy!

Snow foam
Wash
Iron remover
Tar remover
Clay
Wash
Machine polish (single stage with Lake County orange foam pads and Sonax 04-06, fantastic stuff... Didn't see any need in doing a second stage as it was a marginal improvement at a large time cost and honestly the cars paint has plenty of stone chips so perfection wasn't the aim)
Panel wipe
CarPro ceramic coating
Ceramic spray sealant

Adjusted the valve clearances on my 2008 Z4M Roadster. About 45K miles on the clock with no evidence of any previous adjustment. Changed the clearances on 16 of 24 valves, using the Wiseco kit, and had to buy one additional 2.32mm shim. All buttoned-up now, and I have apparently done little, if any, damage.

Hi Davz

I’ve got the same ARB to fit but it came with no bolts. What bolts did you use in the end?
That was a surprise to me, I took the arb off and then when I came to fit the Whiteline I realised no bolts, I popped out to Homebase and got ripped off for a few bolts, I think it is 8mm.
The problem is that the arb link has a rubber bush with no metal sleeve, I have purchased a couple of poly bushes with metal sleeves. I haven't fitted them yet but somehow I think the whiteline has been drilled at 10 or 12 mm if this is the case then a steel bush for the bolt will also be required. If you want to wait before fitting, I will be fitting the new bushes after I come back from Barcelona on Friday 31st and can let you know what you will need and take some pics as well. Fitting is a real pita, lots to undo and not much room to work in, jack your zed up as high as you can (with axle stands of course) getting to the cover bolts between the chassis braces is a reach.DSC_0545.JPG

Looks lovely, what tyre dressing do you use? I like how its nice and matt.

I’d massively appreciate that - I bought some new drop links just so I can fiddle off the car. I wasn’t happy about the bolt sizes either! Enjoy Barcelona!

Photo0139.jpgPhoto0140.jpgPhoto0138.jpgPhoto0143.jpgI didn't do anything, but went up for a mini meet with Neil at the Water Mills, Shepshed. (Zed Fest) for him to code out my airbag light which decided to stay on after my regulator farce!

After he successfully deleted the fault and got the light out  He very kindly decided to get his polisher out and did some well appreciated work on the headlights on me zed. (Massive thanks Mate)

So while he did that i thought i would take a few pics of his amazing Supercharged Zed.

Great mornin with a great mate. Have a great holiday in Mexico Neil.

Cheers, tug
