What have you done to your car today?

I do quite like that wheel design. What are they? Which offsets do you have? Looking at the pic are you not worried the exposed rims going to hit the arch? Especially on our crappy roads

These are they, I took a gamble with the offset and it is a bit too extreme tbh. I'm going to see about getting 10mm machined off the mating face of the wheel otherwise I'll probably sell them on again for a loss. As you say there's a possibility of it hitting the arch, if it was a tatty old z4 I wouksnt be arsed about pulling the arch out and flaring it a bit but with it being a tidy car It really would be a shame to do so for a set of wheels!

As much as I like them they're gonna have to go I'm gonna end up smashing the arch which I don't want as these arches are mint.

Shame tho cos it looks great

Well thanks to all the good people on here I knew what to do when the steering went all vague especially under braking. Removed the old worn out lollypops and replaced them with a set of PowerFlex bushes, difference is night and day. Got my confidence back in it! :D

Picked her up from the Dealer ... after months being sorned in my garage, followed by weeks at the Dealer.

MOT
Tyres
Drop links
Diff seals
Engine mounts

I’d best put down some miles in it this year :driving:

Every time I pick it up from the forecourt, it always highlights to me just how much I miss the old BMW designs, and just how big cars are getting !

They are just something special!
I am on my 3rd E85 and still feel the same, even with my DD.

I just feel empty looking at and driving newer model BMWs. Had a fairly new A5 cab and just had to sell it in less than a year. Clinical, though blameless but definitely absolutely soulless.
Felt better in my much much older 2.0i dd.

The M.... thats a different beast altogether!

I run a 2.0 a5 tdi black edition as a daily and got to agree with you it's uterly soulless but it's a good daily driver comfortable and looks 'like I'm doing alright for myself at 30' rather than driving around in an old banger which I usually do

Same with my missus' A200. Looks great and everyone comments on how expensive it must have been. It wasn't, but people just see the badge and body kit.

The auto box with paddles is fantastic and it's really comfortable. I love doing the weekend shopping trips in it. But it isn't exciting. It's actually boring to drive normally. Drive a Z4 normally and it still feels a bit different to everything else.

Same here, I drive a lot of fairly new cars BMW/Audi/Merc mainly at work and at home the wife's got a newer 1 series. All refined as hell but not much fun. Now if I was repping etc up and down a motorway all day bring on one of these newer cars with an auto box, but for fun driving give me something more fun/agile/aural and less detached
