Being honest the 100 or so miles through the Scottish borders to get to Bamburgh was more enjoyable from a roadtrip perspective :o some great roads & scenery with virtually zero other cars on them as we travelled west to east from Carlisle :driving:
Never been to Northumberland so mission accomplished with our drive down from Bamburgh / Seahouses / Craster etc but it was flooded with tourists by midday ( much like myself i accept ) & everywhere you would want to visit resembled a park & ride / walk so we simply drove through . Seen it now , not sure i would rush back though i appreciate there was plenty to see .

Love that area too. Even the "humdrum" trek to Scotland on the A68 throws up the odd memorable drive, e.g. the climb up to the border on a clear day with an empty road. :driving:

Aye, must admit Northumberland is getting a bit too popular at the moment, it used to be bliss! The Isle of Skye down to Lomond is still my favourite

Yes i'm with you there Stupot , the road alongside the west of Loch Lomond is a real beauty but timing is vital , get there early or late with little traffic & it is hard to beat for bends & scenery alongside the lake :driving:
Ive covered a lot of Uk miles , many favourites nearer home in Lancs but 2 that really stick with me are Pitlochry to Grantown over Glenshee through the Cairngorms ( probably my no1) & the road out of Bedgellert to Ruthin via Nant Gwynant & Snowdon :driving:

Well today I did something rather radical ๐Ÿ˜ณ
I put my whippy back on.
Despite the fact the stubby looks better, the reception from the stubby was crap ๐Ÿ’ฉ
Iโ€™m sure there are better stubbys out there, but the one I was using was crap.
I recall I had a oem one on the 85, and that was better, so that may be the answer.
So for the time being , back to the remote control car look๐Ÿ™„21224C27-62F0-4475-AD43-84007AEA3C9A.jpeg

It's the sound insulation that cover the top mounts. Quite common to see them ripped as garages don't bother dismantling all the trim properly when replacing shocks etc.

Squeaky bum averted.

Funny you mentioned that, I've found exactly the same thing. Stubby (it was more of a semi-stubby) was very good on the E85 but the E89 stubby is not great at all.
