What have you done to your car today?

Went online to give the DVLA some cash £315 this year.
Hope to shake of my cold / man flu and take it out soon for it’s first run of the year !

I got the wrap off a mate, he has his own wrapping and tinting business. The make I used is “Avery” , it’s a dream to work with.
Yes the hair dryer is for softening the vinyl.
It’s pretty easy to do, just don’t rush it, take your time.

Working with wrap is fine, I find finishing the corners the problem... any tips?

Internal corners, warm with hair dryer to soften the vinyl and gradually smooth in with your fingers, if it creases, lift back up and go again.
External corners, as above, warm with hair dryer and slightly stretch the vinyl over the corner smoothing as you go, a little at a time. Just don’t rush it.

Took her in to get the rear pads done. Then got a call to say no wheel key. Spent hours looking for it this evening. Looks like I've lost it. :headbang: Just have to get a new seI of locking bolts tommorrow. I guess.

Know anyone who works for BMW? I lost my key and my dad's friends son worked at a dealer, so he brought home a box of them. One of them fitted, so he let me keep it

I've already instructed the garage to take the whole set off and replace them. Was a really good day apart from that. It's only money.

Cleaned all the glass on the inside and then tried a full size spare out for our upcoming Italian Road trip. Definitely space for my bags, not sure about the girlfriend's!

Just hope she doesn’t have access to this forum or you’ll not need space for her bags!

Good luck with that then!

I bought a 17" spacesaver, jack and wheelbrace - but have since realised that after fitting it I'd still need to get a full-size flat in the boot!

Misplaced the wife’s a while ago on our R50. I was changing wheels and left the locking nut on the wheel after torquing it all back up :headbang:

Realised a few days later I didn’t have it and managed to find in sitting by the side of the road, a little battered from being trampled on but we’re not on a main road so it’s still okay. Think I got lucky!

Used Renovo to clean the hood, Washed ,Waxed, Driven :driving:

I did a similar stunt many years ago - i changed a diff assy in my old Ford Cortina - the boot area was a good flat platform for safe storage of cigarettes and lighter - they were forgotten when I went on a test run - 1/2 hr later I did the run again and found both the cigarettes and lighter
The lighter was grazed but only two ciggies were squashed.
That was the important thing in those days as the shops and pubs were shut!

Ps I quit smoking 40+ years ago!

Washed & got the dirty water off the car after BMW ‘kindly’ washed it with added scratching.

Tried filler & wax but can still see foot long blade marks on the bonnet.

Couldn’t get a photo of the full mark, partial in the sun as hard to see.....but I know they’re there.

Awaiting dealer reply, and in chats with beedub, who is a total gent.
