Wow mr wilks, that looks lovely  .
'Swafega' treatment? What's that all about? I know this stuff from years ago but it's not used these days at work, considered far to harsh on the fair skinned youngsters :poke: . So, where/how have you used it?

I use it mixed with leather cleaner to remove the sheen / dirt on leather seats . Applied gently with a worn kitchen fleece . Then dried with towel cloth & apply conditioner until tacky then again dry off with soft cloth

Could this age old technique be used to give the leather on the steering wheel back it’s appealing matt finish?

Yes i do it on the steering wheel too but be wary where the leather meets plastic , you don't want to rub over onto the rubberised plastic trims .
Wheel feels great once thoroughly cleaned back & ive done this with all Zs , doesn't harm the leather

Interim oil service, fixed glovebox latch rattle, had a general nose around the engine bay from underneath. :)

Turned off the annoying headlight wash function with Carly, not so bad in this weather but in the summer it boils my piss going all over a polished bonnet

Looking good. What conditioner do you use?

Oh and booked it into BMW to get the cloudy headlights sorted ( free of charge)
Hi, just seen that you had the cloudy headlights sorted for free. Can I ask is that because you bought the car from there, or is that a service they offer.

Regards Scott :driving:

I had the roof motor moved to the boot. This was done by ducklakeview. A sterling job may I say. Now my roof movement has a longer life

Cheers

Bought it from there and they sold it with mot advisory on the headlights so they wanted to correct it.

Once the leather is cleaned & dried apply it liberally & wait 10=15 mins untill tacky , then wipe away with clean dry cloth & it should be all good

Hi

I thought there had to be areas in. BMW wouldn't do anything for free. Silly me.

Went for a hoon. Tunnels were involved 8)

The combination of the rattle from top mounts being cured and a DLV special backbox made it an enjoyable drive, first proper roof down blast since having it all done!

Them pops and crackles  :driving:

Know what you mean but a few short sharp blasts on the washers and the headlight wash doesn't kick in.

I think the headlight wash needs to work to pass M.O.T,

I think he means that if you just give the stalk the slightest tap, so as to activate the windscreen washers momentarily, but not long enough to fire the headlight ones then for the next 5 uses, the headlight washers don't fire, which is the way the system is setup to prevent them working every time you use the washers. The 5 can also be coded to I think 3 times as well.

They do but only if they're Xenons. Halogens don't have to work. Carly let's you turn them off entirely or anything up to IIRC 8 sprays of the wiper jets to 1 of the headlight jets.
The beauty of Carly is its dead easy/quick to turn them back on for the MOT if xenons are fitted then turn them back off again.

I know, but with a grotty, salt covered screen I like to give it a good blast & not pussy foot around it!
Easy enough to re-enable for the next mot

I'll be fitting my new clear third brake light when I get home.

Question though, I'm not sure if I have the old "82N" springs or the new ones, Not sure how to tell, would I be safe with finger tight each of them, then half or one turn with the socket?

Cheers.
Is the red one you took off for sale?

Exactly what I meant but didn't know about the next 5 washes
