What have you done to your car today?

Thought this forum would do well with one of these threads!

lots of us do random small things to our cars everyday, let's share them here! these threads have been very useful in other car forums I often frequent, this this needs it too!

today I have dipped my grill black, left the chrome surrounds as is after doing some photoshop.

end result is -;

I like it a lot like that, done 4 thick coats of rubber dip!

Mines had a full hit valet, decontaminated, buffed and polished! Not bad for 14 years old!

Also got round to fitting my 20mm spacers on the rear

I changed the gearbox oil. Drained out 0.75l of black oil and pumped in about 1.2l of amber nectar. The car is on sorn at the moment so it won't get properly tested for a few weeks.

Driven it and bought a cigarette port adaptor so i can run in the dashcam and still have a charging port. Oh and been notified that the media bridge for bluetooth phone and music streaming is at the post office. Emailed a company about gearbox tuning (smg) Also looked at exhaust options.

Problem is that the port is always on even with engine off so your cam would be eating away at your battery? Unless you've got some voltage monitoring going

Put the Z4C on the CTEK. It is not getting enough use at the moment as the E46 has the winter tyres.

E46 - ran a full Carly diagnostics and cleared fault codes. Also checked out the battery as it seems to lose charge real quick. Once i pulled the boot floor, side panels and various fixing brackets out I found two issues. First is that the battery is sitting in about 2cm of cold water :o . Second is that it is a BMW battery. As the car only went to BMW for it's first three years I assume it is still the one it was built with 17 years ago. I think that may explain why it is starting to get a bit weak :?

Didn't get chance to do anything on mine...ended up doing the Mrs' :headbang:

Ah well, there is always tomorrow. ;)

Bukz yeah i noticed i just pull the adaptor which has a big blue neon ring so obvious when its on.

There's a fuse box diagram on here somewhere that shows which fuses are only on with the ignition, it's really easy to wire into one of the unused ones, I added another lighter socket so I don't have to worry about leaving my phone charger plugged in.

I tucked mine up under a nice warm cover patted it on the roof with a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat till we meet again my beauty nighty night :( :( :zzzz: :zzzz: :zzzz:

I admired it's stunning lines looking out of the window from the warmth of the living room!

It's far too cold to be going out unless I have to! :(

Tell me about it! Drove to gym and it was sketchy to say the least on summer tyres.

Can't wait for the weather to get better!

Exactly - that is why my Z4 is going nowhere just now! My E46 run-around is on winters.
